The disk is flat and quite thin. It looks to frail to cut steel, but walks right through it!

will metal cutting wheels cut wood?

Maybe. But probably will basically burn through the wood. There are many better tools to make cuts similar to how this works in metal. Circular saws, wood blades for drills, multitools (very good) and dremel tools, jigsaws, table saws, hand saws.

Amazing product! I had to cut 1/4" off of the top of a 1-1/2" x 1-/1/4" x 5" trailer hitch. Took 2 of the wheels, but it walked right through the solid steel in short order.
