A:  Depends what brand. There is one brand that I know of that you can flatten or brush to change the speed of the green.  This does work to flatten natural turf.

A:  Being a polymer roller I would say no.

A:  I wouldn't try it on hot asphalt - unit isn't steel - believe it's a type of polyurethane and hot asphalt could damage it

A:  If your repairing a blacktop, with a cold pour, it should work great. If, however, your starting new with heated asphalt I would say no. It's made from poly-plastic and could possibly damage the roller. The barrel is filled with cold water and I don't believe the outcome would look right, the blacktopping would cool to rapidly. The manufacturer should be able to answer your question
