Q:Can someone please confirm it is OK to use a Broad speed control 72V with this fan. It is a shaded pole motor, so it should be OK, but the literature seems contradictory. - The Install Guide says in WARNING NOTE 7: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not use this fan with any solid-state speed control device. - However, the Spec Sheet says this Broan 72 speed Control is designed to be used with this fan: Controller Model 72V (Ivory)/72W (White) Electronic Variable Speed Control- 6 amp Thank you for your time. Q:Looks like the installation instructions show that the unit can be mounted on a slant with the pitch of the roof. Is that correct?

        Answer This Question

A:  The unit cannot be adjusted to compensate for the pitch or slope of a roof as with a wind turbine. As I recall, the manufacturer provided information regarding how to mount the unit and the recommended maximum amount of angle or slope of the roof where it is to be installed, perhaps from the manufacturer's website. I opted for the optional rheostat control switch instead of the thermal switch & found that it works very well. The unit is very quiet when in operation.

        by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes, it is. It can be mounted on a roof with a maximum pitch of 15/12.

        by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes, that is the correct installation.

I ordered this product from Home Depot and it arrived in a few day with free delivery. I watched a few videos prior and it was very easy to install. I found a constant power source (outlet ). And connected the black and white wires to it. The fan is very quite. I can not hear it at all.

The fan itself is great, quiet & handles my attire size easily. Only problem was the built in thermostat. Defective & not of good quality. Replaced it with a quality one. In all fairness, I haven’t called Home Depot yet to get a credit. I’m sure it won’t be a problems.

            Not happy with longevity
I had this fan installed June 2016. In June of 2018 the motor failed. I'm pretty unhappy with that!

Our 15 year old attic ventilator died, previous owner purchased, and I read reviews on multiple attic ventilators. I decided on this one because of the reviews and in our price range. Our handyman did the change out, set the attic temperature at 100 degrees and our upstairs loft and back room are once again comfortable. I used to hear the old one go off and on and now I never hear it nor does it vibrate. It does it's job with peace and quiet and comfort upstairs. We are very pleased.

              Great product
This attic fan is so quiet I have to open my attic stairs to hear if it is even running (installed above my master bedroom) I highly recommend having an attic fan because it lowers the temperature on my second floor by 3 degree's which can be the difference of turning my central a/c on or not.
