Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question on the BHF80. Yes, if you want to convert this to a lighted unit, you would need the FG80HBS lighted grille upgrade.

Q:Can I install a compatible 110 CFM motor in the 80 CFM fan housing? The 80 CFM is not powerful enough for my bathroom and I don't want to change out the entire fan.

      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question regarding the BHF110 model. The BHF80 and BHF110 units use different wire panel assemblies. The two parts would not be interchangeable.

Q:Does light work independent from heater
        by|Feb 6, 2024

        Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question on model BHF110. This is a non lighted unit. If you are wanting a model with a light feature, this would be model BHFLED110. The units can be wired to a multiple control switch to allow features to operate independently.

Made for new construction, but we installed in existing home
The Broan BHF110 is quiet and powerful. It looks very nice also. Installation was easy, sort of. The BHF110 is ideally made for new construction. You need attic access to install rafter to rafter braces that attach the fan. We could not do that due to minimal clearance in the attic. We were able to remove the old unit then cut the hole for the new unit which is larger (see VIDEO on how-to). We added a perpendicular 2x4 so that we could use screws to attach the fan unit to two 2x4s. The unit is very solid this way. I had help from a custom home expert. This unit appears to have a slot for an LED light attachment, but we did not use that feature. I did read somewhere that the BHF100 cannot be upgraded with a light like the BHFLED110. I am not sure if that is the case. Doesn't matter. I don't need a light. This is our 2nd Broan in the master bathroom and the lady likes it very much. Great product. Thanks Broan NuTone.

          Broan is hard to beat!
The Broan PowerHeat BHF110 once out of the box looks well put together. Even though I have not installed it yet due to school taking most of my time this month, I'm making this review to talk about what I see and my first impressions. The build quality is great. All welded parts are secure and the wiring is nice and neat. It is a bit heavy but that means there are some quality parts put into this product. I really like the heating aspect as my upstairs bath doesn't have any HVAC routed into the space. This will be nice for cold winter days. The grille is nice and white and it a good design. Instructions are clear and super simple which is always a huge plus as some can be hard to read or don't even make sense. The kit comes with all the hardware you need to install it and you just need some basic tools to complete the installation. Broan always does a good job and I have never been disappointed when it comes to buying their line of bath exhaust fans!

          Need to replace the rough
I got this thing thinking I could just swap out the insides of my old one. Nope. 2 big changes, needed a 3 wire up to the fan and needed a 20 amp circuit. I replaced My old fan set up with this because it was 30 years old and the same manufacturer and type. Pretty sure I'm going to get 30 years out of this one too. This is a really quiet fan by comparison to the old one and the heater works pretty well as well. It's physically larger than the old one so I had to remove the old rough and install the new one. I would definitely get the model with the light next time and the only thing I really disliked is the lens and how stiff it is and how it attaches to the trim. I can see it hardening in a few years and the tabs breaking for the light/lens cover. Other than that I look forward to another 30 trouble free years

          Decent fan/heater combo
Got this mainly for the exhaust fan but also figured it would be good to have a heater since the bathroom doesn’t have one, and it’s a good thing that I was mainly wanting the fan as the heater isn’t the greatest. Doesn’t reach down too well and is a bit loud. The exhaust fan is pretty quiet though. The instructions were good except that I read and reread looking for the rough out dimensions and turns out they printed them on the box instead of the instruction manual, so be aware of that. Otherwise the instructions were easy enough to follow.

Very Attractive Fan - And It Has Heat!
I'm upgrading several bathrooms right now, one of which has an old, original exhaust fan in one of the guest bathrooms (photo below). The old fan is small and does a poor job of moving air in this interior bathroom (no windows) - and, because the bathroom is rather large, it's difficult to heat in the winter. So when I saw this Broan combo fan-heater combination, I knew it would be perfect for this bathroom. The unit is quite large, so the current opening in the ceiling will need to be expanded, but that small effort will enable the room to have plenty of exhaust - and heat when needed. The added heat feature is such a nice benefit to this product. This will be a very nice upgrade to this bathroom! While I'll have my electrician do the install, the parts and manual look very straightforward. It doesn't appear to be a complicated installation.

          Heat works great!
Make sure you pay attention to the description. By the looks of it I thought this had a light too, but it’s only a heater and a fan. It’s not loud at all. It heats the room up quickly. No need for heated floors if you have one of these. Just make sure you turn it off when you’re done. I didn’t realize I left it on with the door opened, then wondered why my bedroom was so hot. Needless to say, the heater works great.

          Bathroom Exhaust Fan
Broan-NuTone Power Heat 110 CFM Ceiling Bathroom Exhaust Fan with Heater, Bright White. A slightly heavy unit due to the heating element, very nicely made. Unfortunately, I can not tell you how bright the light is because it was missing on this particular unit, which is a shame. But nevertheless as far as the unit itself goes, it's quiet and Dries the bathroom nicely. As I said before the unit is very well made and I've needed a bathroom exhaust fan in the guest bathroom, so Yes I am pleased with this new addition.

          Quite HEATER/fan
The Broan-NuTone exhaust fan/HEATER will make getting out of the shower a welcoming event. The fan is super quite and you can just hear it running. The heat pumps nice warm air into the room. This in turn will help keep the humidity down. Easy install and vent out the air you want to remove. The next model up has a nice LED and will light up your day.

          Air Mover
Broan-NuTone is a replacement for an old, no longer functioning vent. 2 sones is easy on the ears! The instruction manual does have wiring diagrams to set up each function individually (light, fan, heater), but in our old house we would have to run new wiring and that is not easy task at this structure. The instructions also have directions as to setting the light……...THERE IS NO LIGHT WITH THIS MODEL. Thought I’d learned how to deal with my learning disability, but I sure goofed on this one. In the end we decided not connect the heater until we confer with an electrician friend. This appliance does require a 16” (40.6 cm) X 10¼” (26 cm) mounting hole! It is listed as 110 cubic feet (but is really rated at 105 cubic feet (13.5³m). Our bathroom measures 480 cubic feet. (13.6 m³) Four minutes to completely “clear the air”. This beast is heavy! At fifteen pounds (almost 7 kg) I highly recommend two people for installation!
