The Broan Wall Vent Ducting Kit is the perfect easy-to-install vent for a kitchen or bath exhaust fan. It will work with 4 in. ductwork and includes a 3 in. to 4 in. adapter for convenience. The kit also features a 2-poly metallic laminate flexible duct and a white polymeric-louvered wall cap.

AnswersIts not really a duct adapter. Rather it is a piece of foam that you can wrap around the 3" duct. I did not need to use it. It would have worked but I would have preferred a true duct adapter from 3" to 4".

AnswersDryer duct usually has a piece of hard duct off the back of the dryer. Don't recommend flex duct at the rear of the dryer.

leaks in rainy weather

I installed this wall vent ducting kit for a customer who purchased it and provided it. The duct was venting a new bathroom exhaust fan, during wind and rainy weather it would fly open and leak rainwater into the bathroom exhaust fan and leak onto the bathroom floor. We replaced it due to poor design.

The kit came with everything I needed. I would recommend using the roof venting kit if possible. I was venting from my basement so this was a more convenient option and it worked well. Easy to install with clear directions and a template to mark the 4 1/2 inch hole.

There is a problem with this vent, it blows open in the wind. Looking on the Brown website I see there is an alternative model, WC650. The description for that model says "weighted backdraft damper guards against wind, birds or lint build-up." Had I known of this problem, I would have gone with the alternative model, but it doesn't appear to come as a kit. I guess I have to purchase it and replace this model. I see some people attached weights to this model, like gluing on a penny. I will call Broan and discuss with them, and update this review as I try to fix this problem.
