We purchased this to match older hardwood floors already installed in our house...
I only gave this four stars because I would have most likely chosen a different floor to install given different circumstances. We already had hardwood flooring in our entry, kitchen, and breakfast area from when our house was built over 20 years ago. I'm cheap and did not want to tear that flooring out so we found this floor at Home Depot. The color and size were a near identical match to the existing floor. Installation was pretty straight forward. Our plan was to put this flooring in a living room, dining room, family room, upstairs hallway, and four bedrooms. The goal was to rid our house of carpet. We opted to install this ourselves since we had such a large area to install. We already had most of the tools we needed and were able to purchase the rest (flooring nailer, compressor, etc) for much cheaper than the cost to have it professionally installed. We have finished the living room, dining room, family room, and upstairs hallway so far. We find that we have very little waste if you take your time and plan your rows. Unlike some reviewers, in over 25 boxes, we've only found a couple of pieces to be unusable. My biggest complaint is that 2 1/4" planks are very labor intensive because their small width means you have to install over double the number of rows compared to larger width planks. We also experienced pretty low waste by laying the flooring rows out in advance to avoid cutting as much as possible. There is wide variation in character and color. I think it gives the floor a cool character.

Absolute terrible quality of wood
This hardwood flooring has every flaw known to man - knots, rot, insect holes, poorly cut sipes and tongue (in case of the plank on the right, no tongue at all!). Even when it goes on sale, it's not really a deal! You'll throw out up to 60% o the box. Invest in better quality hardwood planks instead.

Hi there!

It is important for us to hear feedback from our customers, and we thank you for taking the time to write us. We aim to provide quality products and services to our customers and to meet your expectations. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with your flooring product.

The Plano collection is part of Bruce’s Natural Grade category which features a greater amount of visual character, such as wider color and grain variation, mineral streaks, knots and small holes as well as minor milling imperfections.

If you feel this is a manufacturing issue, you may go back to the flooring retailer where the material was purchased with a copy of your receipt. A sales associate will be happy to inspect your flooring and file a potential claim on your behalf.

We hope that this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact our Customer Services at 1-866-243-2726, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST., if you'd like additional assistance.

Have a great day. AHFProducts

Very Happy with my new floors
My floors are beautiful with this oak flooring. My sons were able to complete 3 rooms, living room and 2 bedrooms over a weekend. It wouldn’t have taken that long but they had to remove 3 rooms of wall to wall carpeting, the padding had a million staples in it so the first day was spent prepping. This house is old and I knew when I bought it that the carpeting had to go, I am so pleased with the way it looks with the new floors. They installed the oak over the original wood floors that were original to the house but in extremely bad condition. Installation went easy but it was still a lot of work and tiring, they are not professional installers but they did a beautiful job. We overestimated so we were able to return a few boxes for a refund. Also, there was not a lot of waste, there were not many boards they were not able to use. I highly recommend this oak flooring and Home Depot is an excellent source for their service and help with our purchase.

All of the pieces were useable and all had tongues ! Very easy to install and perfect finish. I have had this flooring in my house for more than 10 years and it looks as pretty as the day we installed it. Now we are going back and doing the last 2 rooms in the house. The new and old flooring match perfect

Great experience
We bought 17 boxes for 306 feet in 2 rooms from our local Home Depot. I have half a box left with mostly good pieces so I think the waste was right around 5%. Most pieces are longer than 3 feet. The grain and color varies a lot within the same wood and finish family and we like that look very much. Colors vary between rich red and brown. Finish is not too glossy. We chose Plano March 2.25 wide to match the existing floors and the low price was just a bonus. The match turned out very good. The installer did not say anything negative. We will buy more. Since the rooms were empty we patched and re-painted all the walls and trim and upgraded the baseboards. Choosing a good installer made a big difference I believe. Very happy with the result.
