A:  Hello, Unfortunately, the shortest downrod available for this fan is 6". This fan requires a Carro brand downrod for installation. Other brands will not work.

          A Really Smart Fan !
This Carro Triton 44" smart fan is just perfect for a smaller room. I got the white model to match the Ceiling. It has three different light modes, Warm, Cool, and Day, and ten different fan speeds, all run from the included remote. The LED light is dimmable down to 10%, and you can, through Bluetooth or WiFi control it with Siri, Alexa, or Google Home. It's listed as indoor/outdoor. Very, VERY happy with this easy to install ceiling fan.

          Options with options...
The CARRO Triton fan is like many fans today-- lots of options come that work and some that are fussy. To be sure, the fan installs like many other ceiling units and that means very easily. The fan is nice looking and the light is very nice and has three different settings. The basic remote supplied is the fussy device. We somehow "missed" the initial window of time when power supplied to the unit to sync the remote. But getting the fan to work on two iPhones took about 10 seconds. And the control on the phone is remarkable. We will make another effort to get the remote to sync, but to be honest, remotes tend to get misplaced/lost and we always seem to have our cell phone within reach and that means the fan control is available as well. We did not try the Alexa.

Thank you for your review! You can always pair the remote again by disconnecting the fan from the electricity for a couple of minutes, and then reconnecting and then pairing the remote. Carro

          Quiet, Powerful
This fan installed rather easily, except for three glitches. Its operation with the remote control is a bit flakey, but with my phone is flawless. The fan pushes a considerable amount of air on the high setting and has many speeds to choose from. It is quiet. I did not detect any motor noise. The only real noise I hear is that made by the blades moving through the air and the air noise itself. I need to give this a caveat. Initially, the fan had an odd sound at high speeds. Silent when slow. I then noticed that the cowling around the motor seemed to be tilted. Since it comes connected to the motor, there was no adjustment I could make, so I simply applied pressure to the outside of the cowling while holding the motor. This made a lightly better alignment, but certainly not perfect. However, the noise went way. This is my second Carro fan. Both have the same issue. The remote control does not always do what I ask it to do. For example, when shutting off the light, I expect a moderate press on the light button would turn it off. That sometimes happens. At other times, the light sometimes turns off and back on. A third behavior is that it just stays lit. I can press for a long time when it stays lit and it usually turns off, but sometimes it is a long wait -- 10 seconds or so. Sometimes after waiting, it will shut off and come back on. There is a similar behavior with the fan stop button. It sometimes does not stop the fan right away and I have had to hold it for more than 30 seconds to get the fan to begin slowing. The cell phone controls are not finicky. It does what I ask it to do once it is paired. More on that later. Installation was quite easy. While this fan has the dreaded control box that is installed above the hanger, it is not quite as bad as some of other brands. The box fits very tightly in the bracket which causes the power wires to be pinched. There are no instructions for routing the wires when installing the bracket. Much later, in the wiring section, there is a picture that shows the wires being routed through a particular hole in the bracket. Unfortunately, in my case, the wires cannot be routed into the hole because the feed hole is smaller than the bracket. I hope Carro changes their design to not require a separate box or allow the box to be installed in the canopy. The wires are short, so getting a longer downrod is not an option. Not an issue for me. The canopy is large so everything fits under it with ease and it installs easily. This is not true of some other brands. The first installation hitch (besides the lack of instructions for routing the wires) is the error in the instructions for removing the light kit. It says to unscrew the kit from the motor. It did not turn. I did notice that the lights were not screwed in, so I removed the lights -- they are just held in with magnets! Once removed, I saw the screws for the holder under the lights and it is simple to remove the mounting screws. Second is the remote control. The instructions say to apply power to the fan and then pair the remote by watching the fan light within one minute. There are two problems here. First is that the remote requires batteries (not mentioned anywhere); the batteries are not included (so some folks may not have any on hand); and the control is not labeled as to what kind of battery is needed (fortunately it is a AAA and I had a package on hand). The large downside is that you go turn on the breaker, the remote does not pair, so you open the battery compartment, it is empty, it is not labeled, etc. Not a disaster, but annoying. The second issue is the stated timing requirement of one minute. Easier said than done, as my breaker is a considerable distance from the fan. It takes more than a minute after flipping the switch to get back through the plantings, into the house, into the backyard, and pick up the remote. Fortunately that did not seem to matter as the remote seemed to pair just fine. Third glitch is setting up the "smart home" part. I had not connected my first fan to the Carro app yet, so I had two fans to connect. I got the app, told it to find my fans, which it did. At some point I probably pressed a wrong button and one of the fans disappeared. The other fan connected to the app just fine. I have not yet been able to connect the second fan, so I will be contacting Carro for advice. I hope they are responsive.

          A smart ceiling fan
This ceiling fan comes with real instructions, not just numbered pictographs. It has a dimmable light. But the best part is that it is enabled for Alexa and other smart devices, so you can operate it with voice or app commands. I think I'm going to buy one for out on the deck next summer, because these are indoor/outdoor and will work in an outdoor gazebo or porch, as well as indoors. We like this so much we might put one in every room indoors, as well.

          Strong airflow, flexible lighting
I found the Carro ceiling fan with integrated LED lighting to be an excellent product. It's built with some type of metal for the motor housing, so the structure should be durable no matter how much it's used. The operation is smooth and quiet, and the motor is up and running quickly after turning it on. I really like the dimmable lighting. We prefer to have dimmable lights so we can use the fan in the three-season room during dusk and evening, and we still have the option for bright lighting when we want to clean or sit out there to work from home. I really appreciate that the blades are made from durable and light ABS plastic. It keeps the weight light for the ceiling where it's attached, and of course it cuts down on the wear to the motor. The motor has 10 speeds, so we're able to get just as much airflow as we want no matter the weather. And the style! We love the modern look. It fits perfectly well with our midcentury modern look. Even though it's a large fan for big spaces, it integrates really well into our three season look. We tend not to use wireless or remotes for our fixtures, but this unit is designed so that the additional element needed for wireless and remote activity fits snugly inside the housing. Really clever, and well thought out design. I also like having only 3 blades on this. We really don't like the look of 4 and 5 blade fans because they announce themselves too much. The Triton, with only 3 blades, is more unassuming and doesn't draw too much attention to itself. The metal housing, along with the motor, does make this a bit of a task to install. The fan comes with a clip-on hanger to hold the weight of the motor during installation, which helps. But having a second person to hold that out of the way is still a bit easier than trying to hang it alone. Really a great option, especially at this price point. We're using it outside, but it would fit perfectly well for interior use, as well.

Looks and works great. Instructions need updating.
Whisper quiet, looks great, easy to use. Note that in the printed instructions step 1 is incorrect, as others have reviewed. You have to lift off the magnetic LED panel, then remove three screws to lift off the light housing. On the white model, some paint had dried the housing shut and I had to pry it up. I called the customer service number and they answered right away and confirmed the process and hopefully will update their printed instructions. Everything after that first step went well during install. Siri integration is via shortcuts only. To get Homebridge working treat the fan as a Tuya model when configuring settings.

The directions are missing some key steps. They say turn the light assembly counter-clockwise and show a picture of that happening but never says that you need to unscrew two screws that are underneath the light assembly. I applied a lot of torque and am pretty sure I caused some damage trying to turn the stupid thing. I can’t imagine how an organization puts out instructions that poor. I saw another comment from someone that said he returned the thing because he couldn’t get past that step.

          Crooked on Arrival
I bought three Carro fans online. All three came with crooked housings that made the fan blades rub loudly. The housings could not be fixed. All were returned. Dont waste your time or money.

Purchased three of these based on website listing. Upon opening I noted the fan blades are made of a very shiny, cheap plastic. Step one of instructions is to remove the LED light disc, which was impossible to do. Tried everything short of breaking it off. Why is step 1 remove something? Just leave it detached. Based on these first impressions, I returned them to a store. Why fuss over a fan when there are so many other choices?

The light kit was installed to the motor in advance but is easily removable by rotating it counterclockwise as it states in the instructions. The light kit needs to be removed first so that it is not blocking the fan blade holes to install the fan blades to the motor. Carro
