Will this heater work with any thermostat? We were looking to hook two of them up to this Thermostat, Honeywell Total Comfort Connect seen in the picture. https://yourhome.honeywell.com/en/products/thermostat/wi-fi-smart-thermostat-rth9580. Is this heater compatible with this thermostat?
Asked by: phkc070408
Only if the thermostat can handle a line voltage hook up of 240 volts. I don't think it will work based on the photo you attached.

Is this a plug in model or is it hard wired?

Asked by: chas
For various reasons, I connectorized several of these units. I installed a junction box and 15A, 220V receptacle (different than standard 110V receptacle) at the wall using the wiring from the separate, external thermostat hardwired into the wall. This unit draws about 6 Amps. I installed a #14 flexible cord from the heater to a 15A 220V plug. This provided me flexibility in moving the baseboard heater to various locations in the room. As Cadet pointed out, these units are meant to be mounted to the wall securely, if not permanently. Don't attempt this type of work unless you have suitable knowledge, double check that the circuit breaker is turned off, and good luck.

can I wire two of these to the same 20 amp circuit (wired in parallel) with each heater in a separate room with it's own thermostat. I have read all the questions and don't see an exact answer to my question. If yes, then an additional question of what size wire would be recommended going a distance of just over 50 feet to the furthest unit from the electrical panel
Asked by: Dawn
Yes I have done that. No problems for three years.
