where is the thermostat? I need to have the thermostat on the same end as the electric plugin in order to be reading air temperature and not water temperature under a water surface. Or is the temperature read throughout the hose length in some manner?
the thermostat is on the opposite end of the hose from power cord.
Can this be used for a sump pump
Most likely not as the manufacturer has not tested it for sump pump usage. This hose is intended to keep drinking water warm in freezing condition.
Does this hose plug in to an electric outlet?
Yes, it does. This must be plugged into a GFCI power supply.
Can I use this to fill up a pool?
Yes, It can be used to fill a pool. It will not heat the water while filling the pool but it will keep it from freezing.
Can you connect 2 of theses end-to-end? One won?t be long enough for me?
The hose comes with female ends and female to male adapter, we don't recommend connecting two hoses but it's possible to do.
How long is the elec cord from the hose to the plug? And at what air temp does the thermostat turn it on (or is it water temp)?
15 feet 42 degrees. Love it
cord is about 3" it turns on at about 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Works Great, go down to about 5-7 degree 8 or nine times this winter. My cousin has his to temps. around -10 defrees for past 4-5 years no issues.
So this connects where your normal hose is & it puts out hot water? I'm filling an above ground pool. I've been using a camping water heater connected to propaine, but it stopped working. Would this work for me?
This hose warms the water up to 32 degrees Fahrenheit, it prevents water from freezing in cold weather but this hose won't warm water to a higher temperature. It warms it to the temperature so the water keeps flowing in the hose only.
No, it does not put out hot water. It just keeps the water line from freezing in the winter.
