Q:How many AMPS should the electrical breaker be?
by|May 22, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Ralph, usually units take double the amount of amps to start it as it does to run (22 amps). If the unit takes 22 amps it would be double I would say an 40 amp breaker would be better it may run on the 30 but not as well. But, we are not a licensed electrician, please verify with a licensed electrician in their area for installing it as they would be able to provide the best specs for the unit being each environment is different. If you would like to discuss further, feel free to contact our service and parts team at 1-888-895-4549 or at CHservice@campbellhausfeld.com. Thanks for your interest

The compressor is exactly what I needed. The shipping company destroyed 3 of them before I finally received a good one that was delivered to the store. I will not have another large item shipped to me personally

The compressor itself if good but it was damaged during delivery and Home Depot provided compensation for that. Otherwise it seems like a good compressor. It is very loud though.

Not good. Delivery was on a Friday night when everyone had gone home. Lucky, I was still at the shop. No liftgate? Used the rollback (tow truck) to get it off the truck. That did work out fine but if the trucks were out on calls. No way you could remove compressor from truck. On top of that, unwrapped the compressor the next day and found pressure switch assemble broken. I called it in that Monday and was told could have another compressor delivered. I just wanted the pressure switch(box) sent to me and I would repair it because I need the compressor now. I did repair the switch assemble for now so it works but I would like a new assemble for the compressor. Also, not the truck drivers fault. He was a big help getting it off his truck.

My compressor arrived missing several pieces. Campbell Hausfeld was quick to ship the missing items, after I contacted them. Has been running well since.
