Perfect size Aviation Snips.
Another great product from Capri, 7 in. Left-Cut Compact Aviation Tin Snips. I like the smaller size. It makes cutting corners easier and it fits in my small female hands better. The snips cut through the metal very easily as shown in the video. I like the locking feature. It is much easier to use and more stylish than the locks on other aviation snips I have. Of course the compound four bar linkage that drives the cutters is wonderful in amplifying ones hand strength for cutting. Much nicer than a direct shear cutter. I like this tool and I use it for doing duct work around the house. It is also great for crafts. My son and I are building a little robot out of a soda can and these aviation snips are perfect.

Precise for heavy or light work
The compound leverage design used with these snips allows relatively effortless precise cuts regardless of the guage metal being cut. These snips will cut anything up to 16 guage steel. They have double heat treated chromolly blades. The handles are cushioned and designed to easily fit a person's hand allowing the leverage to really bear down on the heavy stuff. The part I found most useful was the centrally located locking device which you could either engage or disengage with just your thumb (see the pix). I could just pick these up, thumb off the lock and start cutting. Even though the snips were made to handle some pretty thick steel I was still able to make precise cuts in light weight aluminum flashing without the usual bending and twisting which always gives rise to my post military vocabulary. When extending the cuts these snips don't make those sharp finger slicing burrs my old ones did and the sides of the cut metal lie flat allowing continued accurate cutting. I'll be using these for a long while.

Shear Enjoyment
A small sized shear that will be convenient for small detail work in thin stock. The specs indicate capability up to 16 ga. steel. Although it WILL cut that thickness, it is slow going and requires a great deal of force. On thinner stock, it cuts as expected, though the small jaw capacity limits the amount of cut with each "bite", which can lead to jagged cuts if one is not careful. This would be a good choice for someone who has no need for a full sized shear and only works with relatively thin stock,

Comfortable and small tin snips
These aviation tin snips work well. They are smaller than others I have used. This enables me to make concise cuts in the metal. They are comfortable to use even with large hands. The actionis smooth and they cut well. I tried them on a project renctly they gave superior cuts with smooth edges. They are just right for crafts or commercial use where you need to get in small locations.

Good for Short Cuts
The Compact aviation tin snips are very good for short snips of lighter gauge steel and aluminum. The jaw opening is roughly 3/8 of an inch with a depth of about 1 1/4 inches. I have used this tool for short cuts and trimming as the jaws are not designed for long cuts. When using a rotary cutter it is a fairly common issue to have burs and occasional short strips where the wheel does not cut completely through the metal. This aviation tin snips works great for cleaning up edges and removing burs. It is also quite handy when fabricating light steel and aluminum where you want exact cut outs along the edges and for rounding corners. I used this tool quite a bit when using the plasma cutter to making steel shelving. Trimming edges is short work with this tool. The grips are very well designed and comfortable to use. There is a finger grips on both sides that allow excellent handling when cutting, even with heavy gloves on. The cutting edge is sturdy and remains sharp, even after repeated cuts. The blade locking device, similar to a variety of garden tools, is strong enough to hold the jaws tight and avoid opening when being moved around. The tin snips are especially useful for small cuts and trimming .Overall I am pleased with the tool. It is not designed for big jobs or thicker metal as this requires a greater degree of grip and the jaw opening is too small for that kind of work. For the lighter metals it works great and is a very handy tool to have.

Compact, Lightweight and Strong
I cut a lot of metal while working on my craft projects and these 7" tin snips are my favorite tool. I find I have better control when cutting because of their compact, lightweight size. I can cut out small and/or very detailed pieces with more accuracy and get into hard-to-reach spots easier than with the typical larger, heavier tin snips. The steel blades are super sharp and seem to glide through the metal. The molded, ergonomic handles are very comfortable and allow for extended use with no aching or tiring. Great, very well-made tool!

great tool
This is so great. I have bigger tools and I really needed this one for different projects. It works great and is so sturdy for a smaller tool. I never knew about this one and am so happy to have it. At first I was a little worried that it would not work, but it did the job. WOW. More people need to know how great this tool is. I have told my friends and neighbors and they will for sure look into getting one. Thank you.
