Beaded groove pattern creates the character and unique appearance of tongue and groove construction. MDF core material ensures consistent bead depth profile across panel. Beaded Panels can be used for wall paneling, wainscoting, cabinet doors and cabinet backers or anywhere you wish to replicate the tongue and groove appearance of fine woodwork. Panels feature a machined 1-1/2 in. on-center beaded groove pattern. The cutting heads are calibrated to ensure pattern uniformity across the entire sheet for a convincing illusion of tongue and groove woodwork that matches any existing species used. Since beaded panels are unfinished, close color matching with existing molding and millwork is possible. You can finish them or use them in painted applications.
PureBond hardwood plywood is an environmentally friendly, cost-competitive alternative to panels manufactured with urea formaldehyde (UF), which may degrade air quality over time
Contains 100% natural wood bonded with a food-grade soy-based adhesive that does not emit toxic air contaminants
Decorative top veneer, measuring approximately 1/42 in. thick, exhibits the beauty and timeless quality of natural hardwood and are suitable for painting or staining
Water-resistant composition has a higher moisture tolerance than UF panels and is less likely to warp than solid wood
Allow panel to acclimate to interior climate conditions for several days before customizing - for interior applications only
For best cutting results, use an 80-tooth (or greater) table saw blade intended for sheet goods or a carbide-tipped circular saw plywood blade
Common: 1/4 in. x 2 ft. x 4 ft.; actual: 0.203 in. x 24 in. x 48 in.
A:Â Hi,
I do believe it will work in a shed outside. The weather could have an effect on it with the moisture and temperature change, but as long as the shed is enclosed it should be fine.
Thanks

A:Â Hello Justin,
Yes the PureBond red oak can be stained and the polyurethane should work fine. Would recommend a light sanding on the panel before staining.

We used the panel for the surface of kitchen cabinets. We sealed it with cherry wood stain and was surprised to see the grains stand out of the background. Initially, we were disappointed and ready to order another piece of different wood so that it will appear uniform after staining. However, after reviewing it, we found it actually looks unique and artsy and decided to keep it.

Nice panels but too bad they discontinued the 3' on center panels
Started remodeling my kitchen, used the 3" on center bead board that Home Depot USED TO CARRY. Now they are discontinued and am now 5 boards short from finishing my cabinet doors. Very disappointed that they no longer carry that product, only the 1 1/2" on center boards. I have no other reasonable alternative and unfinished kitchen cabinet doors. Very unhappy with Home Depot.

I used this product to cover up the balusters on our stairs. The 1/4" thickness was perfect to match up with the top rail and base rail. The only problem is that the groves are not perfectly in line with the edge of the panel and panels are not uniform. You need to carefully match panels to provide for the best look. Otherwise the panels are fine.

Had it shipped to the store. It was well packed. Good quality oak, on both sides. I was hired to build a new station to look like the other 6 stations. I didn't know where to find the door panels. Luckily I went on the Home Depot website. I used them for cabinet door panels for a barber shop.

The oak veneer pattern fit right into the cabinet design that I am working on.
Needed a real wood, thin profile panel that had 2 useable sides.
Was also happy that I did not have to purchase a large panel with a lot of left-over waste, since I only needed 4 small door inserts to complete my project.

The Columbia Forest Products Purebond Red Oak Beaded Plywood project panel was perfect size for covering the back of a bookshelf. The Red Oak pattern is quite apparent on both sides of the panel; one side is beaded and the other is smooth. I found that it didn't cut as smoothly as did the Maple Beaded Plywood project panel; however, it's easy to sand the edges to a smooth finish.

This is a beautiful piece of beaded oak plywood for my spice cabinet project. Frankly I had expected the plywood to come thinner than 1/4" but found the piece to be true to size. Both the intended beaded front or the back would look nice when completed. The plywood cut neatly with my table saw. The plywood layers are tightly sandwiched.
The next test was staining my project. Using a high quality stain I was pleased with the results. The stain was even and enhanced the oak grain. Also important to me was that the resulting finished color was a perfect match for the oak boards which will be used in the project.
I am very pleased with the quality of this piece.
