Questions & Answers

2Questions2Answers

Can this furnance be ducted to heat whole house and can it be used in a 5’ crawl space

Asked by Steve November 29, 2020

Answer

This furnace is what is often referred to as a unitary unit and one that goes into a unitary system. Meaning, Yes it would be installed in a system that has duct work taking the heated air and distributing it proportionately to the rooms, There would also be return air duct work that would bring the cold air back to the furnace. As to your second question relative tot he 5' of head room, I cannot give you a definitive answer without seeing the space and being familiar with the code in your area. For that you would need to speak to a qualified licensed HVAC contractor in your area. Keep in mind the furnace is only one component in the system. So the duct work must be considered as well as the layout of all of it. You want it to work well together as the system is only as good as the weakest link. I frequently get called in on jobs where the person says the furnace or boiler is no good. More often than not, they are fine, its the rest of the system that is wrong and causing them not to work. People assume a furnace not running means a problem with the furnace, yet it often is a problem way out side the furnace and by not coming on the furnace is actually protecting them.

Is this furnace a/c compatible with terminals r w y g c ?

Asked by joneva September 13, 2020

Answer

Yes this furnace does come equipped with a blower motor that has multiple blower speeds so it can be used with AC. However I can not answer you question concern terminal designation as that those letters have no universal definition that I am familiar with.
