If you have the ceiling height, high bay lighting is the way to go and if you go high bay go LED....
If you have the ceiling height, high bay lighting is the way to go and if you go high bay go LED. LED lighting is so much cheaper to operate than HID. The Commercial Electric high bay light requires a 20ft. plus ceiling height my ceiling is just 18ft. but I can still get the benefits of a high bay light. A unique feature of the Commercial Electric light is the adjustable reflector that can increase or decrease the beam angle and the surface area the light covers by simply sliding the reflector up or down, pretty cool. I used fluorescent lighting when I built my shop but I had to have so many fixtures to get the lighting I needed to work. I have replaced some of the fluorescents with LED's but I have found that high intensity high bay lighting is more efficient and economical if you use LED high bay's vs HID. The install should be a simple three wire unless you want to use the dimming capabilities of this fixture. I can't say anything else about the installation as I don't have the light up yet but I do have other high bays and this one will be a welcome addition.

13.4 in. Round 400W Equivalent Integrated LED Brushed Nickel High Bay Light w/ Adjustable Beam High Output 22,000 Lumen. Model # 502501-1610. This unit is truly an amazing step forward in the amount of light per dollar. I have paid more for just the bulbs for use in warehouses and my shop. We wired this to be portable for on the job use. And better lighting for fine finishing work we do. Easy to wire as the leads are pre-installed. The area covered depends on the height you install it. This is meant for places higher than 15 feet. The light type is a very bright day light. I would have no problem retrofitting any high bay space with these. Excellent product.

I have been looking around for a replacement for my 400-watt HID lights in my shop which are energy guzzlers and take a while to start up and if shut off they need to cool to restart. I saw these Commercial Electric's 13.4 in. Round LED Adjustable Beam High Bay Lights. They adjust from 60-degrees to 120-degrees. These are very easy to install and are multi-voltage from 120-277v. The emit powerful high output of 22,000 Lumens of brightness using only 185-Watt of electricity with 5000K Daylight color temperature for crystal clear illumination. With the adjustable beam they can be adjusted for the height and spacing in the install with suggested mounting height of 25-35 ft.
