Q:How is this mounted on a wall/workbench, etc? There are keyhole slots in every corner but the heads of screws will not fit in the slider portion of the keyhole. No mounting screws or instructions come with the product.

        Answer This Question

A:  Thanks for your question. You should use the flat head screws (diameter 0.236in). First pls screw the flat head screws on the wall, then align the mounting holes and hang the product.

          Multi Use
The is a very good power/surge protector as it lays flat or is able to be mounted (screw slots on rear) . With a six foot cord and a flat plug with twelve outlets it will fulfill your electrical needs and the 3 USB-A plugs are a great addition. The electrical plug are positioned for maximum benefit by being spaced for use. The operating LED green lights show both protected and grounded status while the on / off switch shows red. The power strip/surge protector is a tad over 12 inches in length and will fit almost anywhere. The three USB PLUGS ARE RATED AT 3.1 amp which will charge an USB device.

Outlets galore with bonus USB ports
This power strip has a dozen grounded outlets and three USB ports in a black plastic housing connected to an angled plug with a 6’ (1.8m) 15 amp power cord. That sounds like a lot of outlets in a small space and it is, but plug-mounted transformers (wall warts) could easily block off three outlets, quickly reducing the available outlets to a more reasonable number. Those outlets are controlled by a lighted power switch with overload protection, given surge suppression, and checked for an isolated ground connection. Valid grounding and working surge suppression are shown with additional LED status indicators. The entire assembly has screw slots on the back so it can be secured to a shelf or wall. If attached to a vertical surface, the screw slots allow only for an up and down orientation for mounting – not side-to-side. Documentation indicates that a surge suppression failure results in the outlets continuing to remain live but without surge suppression, and indicates that this device should only be used in outlets at least 10 meters (30 feet) (their math, not mine) from the breaker panel. The latter seemed a strange limitation, but is probably related to detecting a functionally isolated earth ground, rather than the working of the outlets themselves. Construction of the power strip seemed solid and all of the outlets and USB ports operated without excess play. I had trouble with initial plug insertion into some of the outlets and had to work and worry the plug into place, but believe this will ease with use. There were no tamper-resist features nor outlet shutters, so it’s not “childproof.” I’ve put this into play behind my entertainment credenza where it accommodates a pair of smart speakers, TV, Blu-ray player, VCR, streaming device, and, during the season, some holiday lights. All told, it’s a lot of cords, but not a lot of wattage! For that sort of application, this is the perfect power strip!

          Almost killed me.
I've had this for about a month. We had a storm last night that caused power surges in the morning. The surge protector began smoking and melted; it certainly would have caught fire If I hadn't woken from the smell of burning plastic and the sound of humming electrical to unplug it. If I hadn't been lucky this surge protector could have outright killed me in my sleep. I've never had a surge protector fail so spectacularly.

Nice to have for multiple plugs
This surge protector fits every plug imaginable. With twelve three pronged outlets and three usb charger connections, you will not be short of an outlet. We plugged this into my son’s computer and tv in his bedroom. He also charges his phone with the usb. We put a few screws in desk to hook it on there. Great item to have. I’m going to get one for living room television.

            12x 120V plus 3x USB
This surge protector has a lot of outlets on it. There are six spaced just over 2 inches apart, suitable for items with large power converters, and another six closer together for cables with regular three-pin plugs on them. In addition, there are three USB high power outlets with a combined output of 15.5 Watts (so up to 3 Amps each!) My Android phone charges rapidly via the USB outlets confirming that it is delivering a high Amperage. There are two green LED indicators that show the status - protected and grounded. A red illuminated switch switched the unit on and off. Color is black. There are slots on the back that enable it to be mounted onto a surface such as a wall. We have to make our own template to get the holes in the right place and supply our own hardware. Not a problem as most people will just place the product on the floor. The back of the unit has a notice that there has to be at least 30’ of cable length between the device and the house breaker box. This is because it relies on the resistance of the supply wires to accomplish the surge protection and is fairly standard on such surge protectors. The 6 foot cable feels hefty and it all seems well made. The plug is the flat kind so it can be plugged into a receptacle without taking up a lot of space. No issues found, but so far I have not been able to evaluate the surge protection aspect. The box claims that they will repair or replace up to $400,000.00 worth of equipment that gets damaged when plugged into the surge protector, so they seem pretty confident in its protection. Made in China Three year warranty.

            Wide-Spaced Outlets
After having the Commercial Electric surge protector for a few weeks, I have come to like some features and dislike others. What I like about the surge protector is the number of outlets, wide-spaced perimeter outlets, and the USB connections. There are 12 outlets which is plenty for most residential needs. Having wide-spaced perimeter outlets allows enough room for the larger plugs. The down side of this is that it makes the surge-protector a little bit bigger than surge-protectors without wide-spaced outlets. I also like the USB-A outlets. If I could change anything about this specific surge-protector, it would be to reduce the number of USB-A outlets and include at least 1 USB-C outlet. Other than that, I would recommend this product if you are looking for a surge-protector.

Strong surge protection, accommodates large adapters
We use this power bar behind the TV stand and plug the TV, streaming devices, router, and other small devices. I have a total of 10 things plugged on it and it keeps them all organized and safe from possible surges. It replaced two power bars that I used to have there and has a stronger surge protection (4000 joules). The box suggests they have a $400,000 connected equipment warranty! The bar has a 6ft long cable with 12 outlets and 3 USB ports. It seems well made and high quality with some weight to it, so it doesn’t feel flimsy. The outlets in the middle are great for small plugs (TV, streaming devices) and the ones on the right and left sides are spaced farther from each other so that plugs with long or large adapters can be accommodated. I also like the fact that it has a flat plug so that I can push the TV stand further towards the wall, saving me space. Overall, great power bar with strong surge protection!

            Works great!
I got this surge protector to mount on the back of my side table. I frequently am there when I work from home and need to plug in my laptop, phones, radio etc. Unfortunately some of the plugs I have are bulky and block other outlets. This on works out perfectly as it has not only the 6 of the standard placed outlets but 6 spaced out ones. It allows me to easily plug everything in and still have a few leftover that are useable. I love that it has the 3 USB plugs as well so that gives me the option to plug in other items as well. Needless to say when I have all the stuff plugged in my table is not very pretty to look at but once I mount everything on the back of my side table it gives it a much cleaner look. I like that the 6ft long power cord has a flat angled plug as I can plug it in behind my sofa without having to leave a large gap. The lights all illuminate to let you know it is on and working properly. With the added bonus of $400,000 in connected device coverage I do not have to worry about a surge taking out my electronics. I am thinking I need to get one of these for my entertainment area as well. The mounting holes allow this to be attached vertically or horizontal depending on your needs. Overall very happy with this product!

            Great power strip/surge protector
I love that this power strip/surge protector has so many outlets because there’s nothing worse than not having enough or when a plug won’t fit because the base is too large. This solves those issues! I also appreciate that it has 4 usb outlets for all our devices. This is just what I needed for our family charging station. It offers a $400k connected device warranty, which is a nice added perk.
