Dangerously defective unit
I assumed my house was incorrectly wired after testing a number it outlets. The tester showed my hot and neutral wires were reversed. This is fairly common with older homes and DIY electricians. After a thorough investigation, I found the electrical was correct and the device was faulty.

worked just long enough to get out of warranty
It started well, then it started reporting every outlet as “bad ground”, even my neighbor’s oulets. Replaced it and the new one reports correctly, for now. Irritating it failed so fast (paying twice in short time) and really irritating HD doesnt carry another mfg competing item (stand-alone) in store.
