Q:how many of these would i need to make the bottom part of a bed frame for a full sized bed
by|Jan 7, 2021
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  It depends on how close you put them together. If you have the pallets touching one another you'd need 6 to cover the surface area of a full size bed. Using 4 would almost cover it but not quite so you'd need to leave approximately 7 inches between them.

Q:How much weight can it hold
    by|Jan 3, 2021
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  We don't have specific weight limits for the pallets but they're made of new pine wood and should be quite strong.

extremely rough, heavy and very sturdy
This is a half-size shipping pallet (roughly two feet by four feet and six inches thick) made of what obviously is reclaimed, very well-seasoned and VERY rough-cut pine. It's covered in sawdust, and the box it came in had a lot of loose sawdust in it. The surface is bristling with splinters, so I've worn gloves every time I've handled it. It's surprisingly heavy (30 pounds or more, I'd guess, but I'm not good at guessing weight) and extremely sturdy; I tried to force it out of square by pressing against a corner, and it wouldn't budge. As you can see in the photos, I'm stacking monster packages of paper towels, etc, on it, but I jumped up and down on it (almost 300 pounds), and it was nearly as solid as the concrete basement floor it's sitting on now.

Here is a picture of what I created with this pallet
The pallet arrived faster than anticipated. Most surprisingly the wood was prettier than on the picture at the website. I built a pallet coffee tablet, also using other parts, which I could purchase at Home Depot (legs, casters...) Please see picture. A word of caution if you intend to do the same: At least my pallet was not perfectly rectangular. I worked my way around this by attached the wooden pieces, which hold the glass top in place and at the same time disguise that the pallet is not perfectly rectangular. I am already planning other furniture pieces. For more pictures of furniture I created from prefabricated wood elements, pls see my blog.

          Elevated storage
I received this product free in exchange for a fair and honest product review. I got the natural pine half pallet to use in my storage unit. It is well constructed, sturdy, and can hold a lot of weight. My husband likes and uses the pallet more than I do. He is very organized and practical. Currently, he has paper boxes and other things that are not waterproof loaded on it. These things will be safer being off the floor if water gets into the storage space.

They broke just from stepping on them
First off this half pallet has 1" x 4" across the top and bottom and not 2" x 4". Three of the 1" x 4" slats on top had knots dead center in the middle of them and as soon as I stepped on the pallet to roll a barrel up on it they split in half just from my body weight. The ones that didn't have knots in the middle of them had quite a bit more strength. I ended up going to my local home improvement store and purchased a 2" x 4" and replaced every other slat across the top of the pallet then it worked fine.

          Slap a Pallet on Anything
You could definitely, by all means, grab a recycled pallet from a store, OR you could buy this knowing it's never been used before. We took this route. And it arrived in a box. It was in good condition and the natural pine is great. We weren't sure for about a day what to really do with the pallet because the possibilities truly are endless with pallets. Then my wife looked at a lonely wall and said, "Let's put it on the wall!" Mounting it was easy, used some screws and anchors we had lying around, but if you have a wall stud to attach it to, do it! Or use some french cleats sold at HD. We cut a used table top to give the pallet a shelf for placing our keys and other things. Overall we are pleased with the results.

          Great Pallets
These pallets were the perfect size for what I needed. It's great to have nice, new, clean ones as opposed to scrounging around for some dirty, old beat-up ones. And they shipped really quickly. I received them only two or three days after ordering.

          Great product
Lightweight, but strong and sturdy. Using this to keep articles off my garage floor. Holds a lot of weight.

          Half Pallet
It was fully assembled and good quality wood. Very quick service - we ordered it online and it came in to the nearby Home Depot in two days . It's small (half pallet) but we only needed two, so it was a good value for us and eliminated the time it took to get the wood and build it ourselves. You're not going to find a better price online.
