Adequate for most carpentry jobs around the house
I’ve used many different hammers for a variety of tasks during my career as an amateur carpenter. My initial task with this Crescent “general purpose” hammer was to use it tear apart a wooden pallet. My impression is that the hammer should be adequate for most construction jobs around the house. The 20 oz head was beneficial for knocking loose thin boards fastened with nails. The claw was adequate for pulling the 6d common nails having at least a 1/8” gap beneath the head. The rubber grip on the handle is comfortable. · I practiced driving nails of various sizes, and while doing so I noticed that each blow produces a distinct ringing sound that seems to emanate from the handle. The ringing is a bit annoying, but I usually wear hearing protection when hammering, so it’s not likely to bother me too much. The ringing is repeatedly the same frequency, so I suspect it’s a resonance of sorts. I’ve never experienced ringing in a wooden-handled hammer. Maybe it’s an artifact of the “VibeGuard” feature that is intended to reduce vibration in the handle. · The hammer has a lifetime warranty by the manufacturer (Apex Tool Group) that provides repair or replacement of the defective product. The hammer was made in China.

Great weight/hold and helps with reducing vibration
This hammer feels great in my hand and I absolutely love the vibration absorbing and magnetic top end functions. I happen to hit my fingers frequently if I am holding a nail, so I use the magnetic top on this hammer to secure a nail and hit the first strike with the nail attached on the hammer and send it into wood without my fingers in the way. It works like a charm. I also like the vibration absorbing since it can get exhausting to feel the impact with each hit. I can tell the difference. Overall, this is a great hammer to keep on my pegboard in the garage and for DIY tasks.

Perfect Hammer for your toolbox
I've had a lot of hammers over the years, most with wood handles and I never liked the grip of the other options. I came across this Crescent 16 oz. Fiberglass General Purpose Hammer and it covers all of I want in a hammer. The grip is perfect just the right amount of cushion and the right thickness. The head is smooth, it's what you want unless your needing a framing hammer. A textured style head should only be used for framing. The style of the claw makes pulled nails a breeze. It's a all around well thought out hammer made by Crescent a company that's been making tools since 1907.

Excellent Hammer
I have used multiple hammers over the years, but I must say the Crescent 20oz fiberglass hammer is one of the best I have ever come across. the weight distribution of this hammer is great and you experience very little to no reverb. The weight of the hammer is perfect for what I like. For a general purpose hammer, this one has my full recommendation. You cannot go wrong with this hammer.

Hammer Time
I have purchased Crescent tools in the past and when I had a chance to get this 16 ounce hammer I knew it would be a positive experience. The hammer is nicely balanced, has a nice feel with the grip and doesn’t feel top heavy as I have experienced with older wood handled hammers. Technology has really caught up with how tools in general are designed and developed. Made in China with Limited Lifetime Warranty

Nice balance and grip
Well, I thought a hammer was a hammer and have been using my ancient wooden one forever until I tried the Crescent 16 oz. Fiberglass General Purpose one. What a difference! It just feels balanced in your hand and has a nice grip. It has a larger, flatter strike surface so I don't "miss" as often. ;) Also has a groove and little magnet at the top of the head to help you hold and start the nail. Feels good to hold and insures a more efficient and effective strike.

Worth the money
This one is really good, it’s really comfortable when you’re holding in your hand & it’s not heavy at all . Also It’s a chescent so you know its definitely top notch quality. This one I picked up for some finish work . The head/face is smooth so it doesn’t damage any of surfaces you’re working on . Look when it comes to hammers everybody’s different , I like the fiberglass ones because they are light and since this one is going to be used around my house my wife can use it without have any problems , and She doesn’t complain to me that it’s so heavy . Hahahahah … is it worth the money ? I think so. (Side note) do not leave this type of hammer laying out like in the back of your truck or in the backyard or something like that because the sun eat-up the fiberglass.

nice weight to this hammer
This Crescent 16 oz. Fiberglass General Purpose Hammer is a very nice hammer. It has good weight to it so when you swing it, it has some power behind it. The handle is rubber and always a comfortable grip. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty, but it's so solidly built that I doubt it will break. the shaft is fiberglass. the head also has a magnetic nail stater which is something none of my older hammers have. It also came with a can cozy, which is nice to have!

Crescent Makes a Modern Hammer That Makes You Want To Swing!
This new hammer by Crescent is making a statement. Literally and functionally. There are no less than three separate places where the Crescent name or logo can be seen on the tool. But that's ok. This hammer feels good in the hand and the magnet nail holder is worthy of praise. You won't be losing it because the orange handle makes it easy to find. There's even a hole in the handle for you to hang it with when you're done. I've found that the long, semi soft handle makes swinging the 16 ounce head easy, comfortable and accurate. If it lasts, it will be one of the best hammers I've ever owned.

Well-thought out design
I have yet to be disappointed with a tool from Crescent. They not only make Crescent Wrenches (their claim to fame) but they make all other kinds of tools as well. I received this Crescent 16oz hammer and it is made with quality. The grip is a soft rubber but has a nice grip to it. The head of the hammer has a sweet spot, as carpenters say. The hammer and claw are constructed of a solid steel that gives it, not only weight, but also allows hammering and removing nails to be a cinch. The claw is straight which works great for removing nails. The shaft is fiberglass which makes it more lightweight. You don't get worn out swinging since it is a little lighter. My favorite part of the design is the magnetic nail starter. There is a groove on the head that your nails rests in. It magnetizes and holds the nail in place. There is enough of a lip for the nail head to rest on and all you do is swing the hammer where you want the nail to go and it gives you a good start. No more having to hold the nail and smash your finger or thumb. Finally, an engineer that actually works with a tool and designs accordingly. The nail starter fit most nails. Thick nails or roofing nails were more difficult but most nails worked well. Crescent has made an amazing hammer. I won't go back to my other one. On another note: it even shipped too me with a Koozie. Bonus.
