Will this remove hardened grout from natural stone ? I used stone as a accent for a mirror and grouted stone in and then had to leave ... the grout hardened encasing the stone I only want remove the top layer of grout to expose stone

I have been using this with a green Scotchbrite scrub pad on my porcelain floors to remove dried fast setting grout and it works well. It's not easy, but it works. I work in small sections and have to let it sit for about 5 minutes before starting to work on it. I literally tried everything else (not muratic acid). I'm able to remove only the grout from the tile and I can still shape down my grout lines. In the picture below, this entire section was covered in dried up grout, like you see in the center of the floor.

Can I use this product instead of muriatic or phosphoric acid to etch a concrete basement floor in preparation for staining? I'm afraid of the potential harm that muriatic and phosphoric acid to lungs, eyes, skin, etc. and heard sulfamic acid is less dangerous. Would this be the product I would use or is there another sulfamic acid product I should purchase?
Asked by: Marci
Yes. Sulfamic acid is a safer alternative to Muriatic Acid and Phosphoric acid for preparing concrete to be painted.

Can this be used to remove dried grout on a glass mosiac backsplash
Asked by: RaGu
Should work. Wear gloves and eye protection. Soak paper towels in solution and let cling to surface (otherwise is it hard to get it to soak into the dried grout).
