Product Overview

RollerRock is a tough, decorative, textured concrete coating made from real stone. It's a unique pre-mixed self-priming formula that rolls on easily to add a new surface to exterior concrete porches and steps, patios, walkways, pool decks and more. It's also an excellent finish for garage floors. RollerRock's high performance formula resists water, stains, impact and abrasion and stands up to all climate extremes-from sub-zero winter conditions, salting and snow shoveling, to harsh UV rays and heat. Its attractive textured finish effectively hides hairline cracks and ugly patchy looking concrete repairs and turns any drab exterior concrete into a colorful and functional slip-resistant surface.
  • RollerRock must be top-coated with Daich hi-build ultra sealer (for exterior projects) or DaiHard epoxy clear coat (for garage and interior floors)
  • Free RollerRock stone texture roller applicator included with RollerRock purchase
  • Flat/matte finish provides non-reflective appearance and helps hide surface imperfections
  • Resists UV damage, peeling, cracking and blistering for a long-lasting fresh look with minimal maintenance, formulated to withstand seasonal heaving and contracting
  • Dries to the touch in as little as 1 hour to provide quick protection
  • Self-priming formula allows for reliable adhesion and hiding
  • Low-VOC formula minimizes bothersome odors
  • Soap and water clean up while wet
  • Online price includes PaintCare fee in the following states: CA, CO, CT, DC, ME, MN, OR, RI, VT, WA

could this be applied over a terra cotta mosaic tile patio

Asked by Daddio June 13, 2021

Answer

RollerRock will dry quite hard, therefore, shifting of the surface below the coating is not ideal or more cracking can occur. If possible, best to patch areas of missing tile with a concrete patch to avoid shifting and this will level the surface prior to coating application.

I bought the Trac safe sealer . what is the best roller to use for the sealer

Asked by Drew June 12, 2021

Answer

Either a 3/8" up to a 1/2" lint free roller depending on how smooth the concrete is...2 coats recommended for proper slip resistance.

how long does the color last? is it longer than just laint

Asked by craig April 28, 2021

Answer

The colour shouldn't fade much over a decade or more. RollerRock has natural mineral stone particles that will retain their natural appearance. There is some tint added to the product to give it a hue of warm gray, but as long as RollerRock is sealed with the recommended exterior sealer, the warm gray colour will be UV protected against fading, retaining it's colour much longer than most paint coatings.

Well this product adhere to a garage floor that’s been sealed

Asked by Vinman April 15, 2021

Answer

It would depend on the sealer used. If it has a flat finish or was applied many years ago and is quite dull, then adhesion should be fine. However, if it is a glossy sealer then it would need to be etched. When in doubt, best to try an adhesion test.

Hi RollerRock averages 100 sq ft per gallon based on a recommended 2 coat application. This means a 5 gallon pail will cover 250 sq ft with our recommendation.

Hello, Yes, this is widely used on driveways. We also have a Garage and Driveway sealer that we would recommend you get together with the coating.

All of the interior walls of my home are concrete, can this be used indoors?

Asked by Clay September 7, 2020

You can use this indoors. However, I would only use it on a floor versus a wall. On a wall, you may have difficulty keeping the granular material from running down the wall before it dries. I used it on the floor of my patio (previously poured concrete which had started to look pretty bad).

I plan to put this over a section of my patio that already has a coat of Behr Granit Grip. The Gr...

Yes, Granite Grip and RollerRock are both water based coatings. Granite Grip is not as thick as RollerRock so RollerRock will effectively hide the Granite Grip finish well.

No, it is important to follow the instructions regarding cleaning the surface before using this product.

Took Multiple Coats - But pleased overall
4 Stars because the color wasn't what I expected and it was much thinner and took more coats than expected. Overall I'm very pleased with how this coating turned out in the end. Our foundation was dark brown, and this coating is much thinner than I though it would be. So it took 3 coats to cover the brown. I used the roller for the first 2 coats and realized it wasn't applying a thick enough layer. On the third coat I used only a brush and really coated it on there. The roller provided a nice textured finish and since I used the roller the first 2 coats the texture shown through on the 3rd brushed coat as well. The color was a bit more grey than it seems in the picture to me. Very cool tones while the image in the picture seems a bit warmer to me. I got this color thinking it would be more of a natural concrete color but it looks a little too grey to me. Its way better than the brown and it was a lot of work to prep the foundation and paint 3 coats on it so I'll just stick with the color it is for a while. Our house is 2000 square feet (1 story with a basement) so the foundation is that of a 1000 square foot house. The exposed concrete foundation averaged about 2.5' and 1 five gallon bucket did three coats. Its a multi-day process, I allowed the coats to dry for at least 24-48 hours depending on the weather. I plan to do the suggested sealer this weekend.

For me, it did not work. I am a doityourselfer. I heard them on a radio program, then I watched their videos. I followed the instructions that came with the materials. It peeled off 3 months later. It turns out, I did not prep my concrete correctly. I needed to acid wash it and apply a primer. These steps were news to me after it peeled up. A professional painter would probably have known. it is expensive so I recommend hiring a professional. The company had bad customer service and they are in Canada so I was limited on my recourse, but Home Depot took great care of me.

Overall it met my expectations. My concrete was in bad shape so it took a little more than I expected. I had to patch the cracks as best I could before applying. Considering the alternative of the cost of a brand new slap I am pleased with the outcome. The prep is very important for the outcome. Power wash is a must.

I used this product to cover up the eye-sore the front porch (26ft. x 5 1/2ft) was after I removed the tile that was starting to lift. Once I removed all the tile and scraped, wire cup brushed and power washed multiple times to remove residual paint, glue/adhesives, I then gave it an acid bath using muriatic acid. I let it dry for a few days and applied the RollerRock Concrete Coating. It went on well, using the foam textured RollerRock roller I think it gave a nice texture. By the time I completed the project, I applied 3 coats (glad I bought the 5 gal. product). After waiting 2 days to make sure it dried (not allowing any foot traffic) I applied the HI-BUILD ULTRA - SATIN sealer, 2 coats. I am very happy with how this turned out.

This is the first time that I am ever actually writing a negative review on a product and I was planning to keep my opinion to myself this time also...until I received the email asking for my opinion. I still probably have roughly 2 1/2 gallons left and have no intention on using it! This is honestly the WORST paint product that I have ever purchased and I used to paint for a living so I understand paint. If I could - I would try to return what is left but I am not sure how to do that with only half the bucket left and at least try to salvage some of my money. I still have the receipt. I even had a mixer going full-time keeping the paint mixed and it still never covered properly! The paint was nothing as described or advertised!
