after I installed the diverter it still does not work properly, when I put the shower water still come out from the tub

Thank you for your question. We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. It sounds as if the diverter washer is not seated correctly in the faucet body. Remove the stem from the faucet body. Grab the bonnet (the cast brass "body" of the stem), and turn the stem as if you were turning the shower all the way on. This will draw the "plunger" end of the stem up against the bonnet. Between the bonnet and the plunger is the diverter washers. As you draw the plunger up towards the bonnet, it will trap the diverter washer against the bonnet. Re-install the stem in this position to ensure that the diverter washer seats correctly. If you continue to experience difficulty, please contact Danco Product Support at 800-523-5135, option 2.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was a good quality replacement valve. It came... This was a good quality replacement valve. It came with a new brass seat which I also replaced. I rated this a 4 rather than 5 based on the lack of instructions. I was doing a DIY repair of this type for the first time and hoped to have some instructions included. There was a link to the Danco website for instructions, but when I went there they had instructions for faucet replacements, but not for the diverter valve. I learned through trial and error that the valve body has to be screwed in pretty tightly to fully stop the flow of water from the faucet while in shower mode. I was also sold a tool for replacing the seat, but figured out that a 1/4" drive ratchet extension fit the inside of the seat perfectly and I was able to return the seat tool and save some money. The hardest part of the whole job was breaking the old valve loose.
