Questions & Answers

The pipe that I'm connecting to is 2 inches long. Would this unit work with a 2 inch pipe?

Asked by: Sjs
Hi, Sharron: Nope. I could really only use a "close" nipple (1", all threads) or a 1.5" at most. It doesn't allow for longer nipples inside the faucet body.

Do you sell a flange/escutcheon for this spout? I have approximately a 1/4inch gap and am unable to adjust the piping

Thank you for your interest in Danco products. The part you want is Danco #80001 (http://www.homedepot.com/p/DANCO-Decorative-Tub-Spout-Ring-80001/202251675)

What can use to fill in the gap between the wall tub spout?

It's about 1in wide.
Asked by: Johnny
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not offer a tub spout ring thick enough to fill a 1 inch gap.

Is this spout adjustable? With the diverter down water comes out of the shower head as well as the spout.

Asked by: Mike
Nope. You have two choices: Tub or shower. Never both.

Tub Spout-Back Diverter is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job 10 year old tub sprout started to leak so I got a quick replacement. Tightened down and only have 3/8 inch pipe sticking out so it will work on anything bigger up to about 1 inch. It does drip out of sprout a little when using shower but not much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is THE diverter to buy Even though it's the cheapest, it function is far superior to the other diverters that have the pull/gate near the end of the spout. This unit is easy to pull up and does a great job of stopping flow to the spout and sending it to the shower head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy replacement I bought an older home that had lots of hardware that needed replaced. This was super easy to change out and was an exact fit to what was already in place. All the parts I needed were included and I was able to use it immediately after.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Will buy this product again! Better than some of the other brands that are offered by some other stores. Do not care for the brands that offer the diverter at the front of the spout that in turn cause your shower head to turn on prematurely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaked from the day I bought it I love that this has a metal exterior and is easy to keep clean. But I installed this precisely according to the manufacturer's instructions, I've done many others, and I'm generally very handy around the house--and it didn't work properly. First, it's weird how this installs. You can only screw it into a nipple of about 1" or so--there's a "gate" just inside the threads inside the faucet body that stop you from tightening it further than that. In other words, if you have a 3 or 4 inch nipple sticking out of the wall, as I did, you'll need to remove it and use a close nipple or a 1.5" at most. That was warning #1. It leaked, drip...drip...drip from behind, though I didn't notice until a small rust/water stain appeared underneath the back of it. By then, it had been a year, and the water had been dripping down, through the stud bay and down a concrete basement wall. Luckily, I was just about to demolish that area for another reason, and I couldn't tell how much of the water was from this faucet and how much was from another unrelated problem. Finally, I tested this faucet by putting it on a very long 3" nipple, just to make sure it couldn't possibly leak inside the wall. It was sticking about 2.5" away from the tub surround wall (because, again, you can't screw it in very far), and I could see into the back of it. Out of the back of the faucet? Drip...drip...drip. The whole time it was running. Also, the diverter never worked to my satisfaction. I always thought there was too much water coming out (a small stream continued to run no matter what I did). I was used to a Delta pull-down diverter faucet that worked perfectly until it died after 25 years of good service. But it was plastic, so I thought: "Metal. Better." Not necessarily. This is a piece of junk. I wish I could return it and get my money back. I will avoid products by this manufacturer from now on.
