Plastic Wood-X with DryDex 8 oz. All-Purpose Wood Filler

While the product can be used for the application as described, depending on the size of the repair (width/depth of the hole) and the fasteners that you intend to drive into the wood filler, drilling pilot holes prior to driving your wood screws may be necessary (much like drilling a pilot hole in solid wood prior driving a wood screw, to prevent cracking/splitting). Likewise, for proper strength/holding power, the filler must be allowed to fully dry. As indicated in the product usage guidance: "…Dries in as little as 15 minutes for shallow, low volume fills and 2-24 hours in larger volume fills ¼” deep and over. For larger and deeper repairs, apply two or more thin layers, allowing wood filler to dry between applications. A:  No, you would want to use a  Round Dowel rod to fix this issue. 

A:  Not a good option, I’m assuming this is a wood cabinet, drill out the hole for a piece of dowel to be glued in, use over size screw, or wrap the original screw with tin foil

Areas that may be subject to abrasion/wear and or moisture must be protected with a surface coating, such as a high-quality polyurethane. As with any hard setting wood repair filler, it should not be applied to joints, seams, or other areas prone to movement. A:  I would use some type of self-leveling underlayment for this. Talk to your Home Depot associate.

A:  No. This stuff is very brittle and sensitive to water. Too much weight or a spill would cause issues. Try a floor leveler.
