Does it have a waffle head?

        Answer This Question

No, this is a finish hammer type. A little heavy butt I have used it for years for finish concrete carpentry and it doesn't leave marks on ply wood or form work when used properly. How that helps.

Good hammer but it could have a flatter head.
I’ve used the 20oz for a month now. I’m loving it so far. I use it in commercial roofing applications, like driving Zamac fasteners through concrete or masonry. Overall it’s a good hammer, but I’m o a fan of the beveled edges, because it has the potential to slip if you your hit is a bit off center. You have to go in store and choose the flattest head available.

                A framing hammer with a round face…?
All of the reviews that are positive show a hammer that looks brand new. Well, this review shows one that isn’t. I’ve actually swung this thing. A lot. I have to say that it is by far the worst hammer I’ve ever used. The main reason for that is the round face with the beveled edges. This thing slips off more nails than I can keep track of. At first, do you think “ did I just forget how to use a hammer? Why am I hitting my fingers so much?” and for many projects, you beat your head against the wall, thinking that you just suck at using a hammer again. You don’t. It’s the hammer that sucks. The only positive thing I can say about the hammer is that it’s yellow, so you can see it from a distance and it’s light weight. That being said, being lightweight just means it’s moving faster when you run it into your thumb. I don’t care how devoted to DeWalt you are, pass by this hammer.

                  Great 16oz multipurpose hammer
I wanted to upgrade my old 22oz hammer, was just beat up and hurt my hands after awhile. Picked up this 16oz Dewalt (on sale for half price too), have used it for roofing and ripping apart pallets so far. Great hammer, well balanced, comfortable and lots of power without leaving your hand soar and vibrating after a few hours. My only complaint is im not sure while they "lacquered" the front of the head, cracked off very quickly.

                    My Go to Hammer
This hammer is fantastic. The weight feels good in your hands when you are using it. It’s solid and the handle feels good and has good grip with or without gloves. Some of my favorite features are the side nail pullers (who would’ve thought how helpful something so simple can be) and the magnet for holding and starting nails. We all know a good hammer can make the difference when working on projects and this hammer does not disappoint. It has become my go to.

Women: find a man that looks at YOU the way they look at this hammer.
Just picked up this hammer. First off it’s solid and it just feels right in your hand. Second, the grip has a bit of tact to it so it stays on your hand when swinging it. Third, the weight is perfect for me (weekend warrior DIYer). I’ve used large 24 oz framing hammers and they are just a bit to big to be swinging it all day. My old 16 ounce hammer is okay but this one is the perfect balance. I love it already, I’m excited for the projects we’ll get done this Summer.

Quality Hammer. Lightweight, but strong and as expected with that Dewalt quality.
