Use a flexvolt battery! big difference in power & probably a worn or dirty firing pin, clean maybe even file end of pin flat again clean, light lithium spray. It's lousy that all other big brands have a maintenence kit with replacement firing pin, etc.

20-Volt MAX XR Lithium-Ion Cordless Brushless 2-Speed 33-Degree Framing Nailer with Battery 4Ah and Charger is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 336.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool I received my 30 degree 20 volt framing nailer just before Christmas and just in time to start my garage shop addition. As I took it from the box my first impression was it's heavier than expected however, as I began using it I didn't noticed the weight. Best of all I didn't not have to fight an air hose or gas replacement. Explanation of the high and low power for long or short nails and where the switches are could have been a little more plain I did look at the directions. I used well over a thousand Paslode 30° paper nails and I had only 2 jams. I believe that was because I pulled the trigger before the motor powered up. Just part of getting used to the tool , it will also cause nails not to bury completely. Also if trigger lock is in halfway position trigger pulls motor does not run that can be frustrating to you figure it out. The Dewalt 20 volt framing nailer might not keep up with an air nailer in production situations but is exelent for most other uses. For occasional use to daily this is a must have tool. It is a great tool. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Returned the nailer to the store. Would not completely... Returned the nailer to the store. Would not completely drive 3" nails into 2x4.The unit was a new 3 year old unit and the battery may have lost some of its capacity. Either way paying that much money for something that does not perform is unacceptable. This is the first DeWalt item I ever had to return.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product hope it lasts I'm building a waterside cabin and decided it was time to get a nailer that freed me up from dangling hoses and didn't require me to run a generator to keep my compressor going (bought extra batteries to get through a full day), so I decided to purchase the DEWALT cordless framing nailer. Other than some initial problems with jamming nails every couple of hundred nails (which by the way, I wish there was a quick release mechanism on the nailer versus the allen head screws), the nailer has been great. Unfortunately at the end of the day yesterday I had another nail jam (first one in a few days) but after I cleared the jam the nailer won't start. Battery is good, settings are correct, but nothing. If this nailer is shot, I still plan to get another one-its great not having to lug around a hose everywhere-and yes I would recommend it to anyone. Hopefully, I'll get this problem fixed and continue with the cabin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good Bought this midway though sheeting a roof because my 10yr old paslode jammed and I’ve changed all my tools over to dewalt recently. Finished the roof with some Issues but figured it was due to using paslode nails In a Dewalt nailer so the next day I bought a box of Dewalt brand nails that are recommended for this gun. Tried it again the next day with the new nails and same issue, not driving nails in all the way, jamming, etc. All that to say I am more than disappointed in this nailer, maybe I just got a lemon but I would never recommend this nailer to anyone

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Convenient! I have had this kit for approximately a year now. Whenever I bring it out (everyday) on projects, the clients, co workers are impressed. I do not have to set up a compressor, or hoses. I have built 3 brand new homes with this nailer alone, even through a Canadian winter! I love how light it is, the hook for attaching it to my tool belt, the runtime I get with this is usually a full day with one battery. I have also done a lot of renovations with this nailer to which it performed well. I’ve only had one issue with this nailer was eventually the nails were not going in completely and also misfiring shots. But ! Because of the awesome warranty the spring and striker were replaced . And haven’t had the problem since ! And it is back to building me some homes! All In all I recommend this nailer! Thank you. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great nailer I bought this nailer because I mostly do drywall & im always adding in boards in the corners etc for screwing the drywall. I hate having to haul my compressor around with my pneumatic nailer. So this was perfect. A friend of mine has the Paslode gas nailer & it works good, but you smell the gas & I hate replacing he gas. It’s a pain to say the least, plus more money. So the cordless 20vlt option was perfect. Especially for indoors where you don’t want to smell gas. I’ve heard people complain about this nailer not sinking nails consistently or mis firing. But that will happen with any nailer over time if you use one often enough. I’ve only had one misfire, and it was easy to clean out and keep going. It is a little slower than using a pneumatic nailer, but not as much as you’d think and for he portability it’s well worth it. I use it a few times a week. It’s my always carry nailer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How did I ever get by without this? Wow. I couldn't be happier. No issues whatsoever except a couple of jammed nails which were very easy to remove. Runs all day on one charge. I've used about 4000 nails so far. I debated for quite some time because of the cost. However, I remember at around 30 years old, hammering nails into a 400 square foot deck and having it take forever, not to mention bent nails and a sore arm. Now at 61, I just did a 650 square foot deck with no wear on me at all due to nailing in deck boards. I am helping my step-son do a deck too which I am sure I would not have been up for without the nailer. I was looking at composite vs. cedar or treated wood to justify spending $500 for this. I used treated wood that I was able to hand pick and it looks great. I have a craftsman finish nailer that I've used a lot over the years and it is very good as well - but you can't beat not having to use an air compressor and hose. You can't go wrong with this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best nail gun I have ever used This nail gun is really convenient and easy to use The battery life is way better than I would of ever expected. I have been using this nail gun everyday for about a month and a half and haven’t had any problems with this gun everything I have put it up against it’s shown that it’s up for any challenge I put in front of it.
