Yes it can be used on steel.
This drill bit is made in China.
China. The DeWalt's made in Germany are the ones to buy. Better
I suggest you ask Dewalt instead of Home Depot with regard to the 135 degree versus the 120 degree angle you measured. They have a great support website.
I would suggest you contact the manufacturer for the discrepancy.
Yes, It has a reduced shank diameter to 1/2"
Yes.
yes it's made for a 1/2" drill
Yes it will.
Yes, this bit will fit in a 1/2" drill.
About 8”
6” long… but it will not drill a clean 5” hole.
It is 6" long.
6 inches tip to end of shank.
It is 6 inches long.
No the bit will just fit. It fit my Dewalt.
Do not believe there is an adapter for drill bits. You may need a larger 'drill with larger drill chuck'. Good luck. Will
This 5/8" bit does require and fits perfectly in a 1/2" drill. I am not aware of any adapter that would chuck up to a smaller drill motor. Yours is probably a 1/4" or 3/8" drill.
You should be able to buy a drill bit with a reduce shank o 3/8 inch
I tried to get away without a pilot hole but it tears up wood and makes drilling through 1/4" steel difficult. It goes a lot faster and neater when you drill a series of hole sizes with wood or steel
If you're smart you will drill at least one pilot hole.
any time you drill with large hole drill you should first use a drill punch then pilot hoole drill
yes...2 pilot drills for ease on the drill bit.
Yes ! Pilot hole 1/8" required first
