I am torn
I think that I really like this boot. I have been wearing it about 2 weeks. It is a good looking boot and seems to fit the criteria of a qualified work boot. However, the boot squeaks when walking. As a result, I sound like a clown when I walk in the office. On the worksite, no one cares, but inside a quieter space, I feel like an idiot.

My foot dimensions are like a strip of bacon. At shoe store they measure 14B. These 13 regulars fit better than any footwear I have bought in decades. The steel toe is comfortable. The no-mar shoes are excellent. I could not be more pleased. Now for those used to wearing loafer type light shoes you will notice a difference. These are steel toed safety shoes built to protect you feet. They weight a bit more as such. BE CAREFUL walking as it is now easier to catch foot on surfaces you may have been moving over in the past with lighter footwear. I highly recommend this boot..

      Nice boot
I love these boots. They arrived just in time as I wore them during my yearly pond raking. The size fit as expected. Perhaps a smidge larger. That's ok as heavy socks will take up any size flopping. The comfort around my upper ankle was fantastic. The boot sole cushion...nice. No need to purchase a cushion insert, like I did with another top name brand I have been using. Easy on/off with the upper lace hooks. Working the pond shoreline, it's on an angle, was the only time I felt the toe protector and though my foot was on an angle, it is the real world. These boots are very, very comfortable to walk in. Another nuance was pea gravel size rocks will stick into the treads. Over all, these are a well designed boot.

Safe, Comfortable, and Well-Made Work Boot!
This steel-toed work boot is really well-made, with features you won't likely find in many work boots, such as a high, well-padded boot collar (see picture) to support your ankle, a well-padded boot tongue (see picture), and some extra padding inside the sole of the boot which will make it very comfortable for long-term wear all day. I found it very comfortable, even the first day of use (no break-in required). It is stated that it is a waterproof boot, and based upon the stitching and design I am certain that it will be able to keep your feet dry in any wet conditions. Another plus about this boot in wet or slippery conditions is the excellent tread in both the sole (see picture) and the heel (see picture). The tread is made of an oil and slip resistant material. The back of the heel (see picture) even has horizontal orange markings for good visibility in low light conditions. I highly recommend this work boot for any outside work. It is well worth it!

      Love the Craftsmanship
I really needed a pair of good boots for the light construction I do around my different properties. I don’t know whether to classify myself as an intermediate or advanced DIYer, but I’ve built outdoor decks, framed walls, done roof work, use high pressure washing equipment, etc. I’m very aware of the need to protect myself from injury, including my feet. I find this pair of boots by Dewalt to be very pleasing on a number of fronts: (1) they fit good (size 9W) and the finish is attractive for a work boot (see picture), (2) they’re reasonably comfortable to wear (as much as a medium ankle boot can be), (3) there is a confident and solid feel to the protective metal toe, (4) it’s easy to put them on (the open eyelets at top of the tongue make it very easy to tie and untie the laces – see picture) and (5) they have a secure non-slip deep tread – see picture (good for walking in snow too I suspect, though I live in Florida). In fairness, I would need to wear these a few hundred hours to fully break them in but my initial thought is that they are a very good value, worth as much as boots costing more. My observations: (1) the canvas stitching was close, tight and meticulous, (2) the mesh lining and tongue spanned the full width of the throat of the boot (with an accordian-like material) to completely seal the foot compartment from liquid seepage (see picture), (3) the metal toe has a solid feel (I stood my 180 lbs on it to no effect) and (5) the metal eyelets and shoelaces appear to be made of quality materials. The overall design and craftsmanship appear to be exceptional. The only criticism I have (and it may be due to the fact that they’re not yet broken-in), is that the boot was a tad difficult to remove (although a small rubber grip tab is provided at the rear cuff to help pull them off with your finger and thumb – see picture), and they were not particularly comfortable to walk a long distance because of rubbing against my ankle (similar to my experience with many other brands). I suspect that once they are “worn-in,” these concerns might disappear -- but those are my initial thoughts. Although I’m a bit surprised to see the Dewalt name affixed to a work-boot, my initial wearing of this boot suggests it is a worthwhile offering. I would recommend it to a friend.

      Consider the size
The boots were pretty nice out of the box for the price. I didn’t get to use them so I can’t attest to their durability. They are narrow. I wear a size 13 in everything. If the option is there to get a wide, I would do it. The room in the front felt fine with this boot. You can feel it is narrow when you put it on, but that’s not even really an issue. The steel toe is also narrow and digs into the side of your foot. This would easily get uncomfortable.

Makes my big toes turn black just from normal use,...
Makes my big toes turn black just from normal use, i wear a size 12 or 13 and the 12's are apparently too small or something because the steel toe composite makes my big toes turn black completely. Dewalt didnt care to tell my why this is happening. I feel like they fit fine and dont seem too small or too big.
