Answer This Question

A:  Without a doubt!!!! Diablo are great blades!!!

A:  Yes this blade will rip cut 2x4 with ease, providing table saw or cutting saw has the horse power to power thru it without bogging down.

A:  For wood in general, More Teeth = smoother cut = more expensive blade.  If your pine is for framing or something that is structural and not seen later, a 24-tooth blade will work better and faster for ripping down 2x4s.  If you’re building furniture or cabinets, this 40-tooth or a 60-tooth will create a better finished cut.

A:  It will rip a 2x4 length wise just fine. You are going to use a skill saw that has enough power, and slow down your feed rate. It's going to give you a finer cut than a 24 tooth rip blade but it does stay on the line well but, it is slower.

            Q:Can I us any blade cutting 1/2 ? plywood
            by|Jun 10, 2022
            1 Answer
            Answer This Question

A:  In general yes. New designs provide teeth with geometries to penetrate a particular structure so it is optimized to have a smooth and sharp cut with straightness controllability. If you have good quality plywood to cut for furniture or decorative purpose, stick with what labeled: "finish/plywood". You can still use this or other wood cutting blades on plywood for roofs and behind drywall structure... In this case large teeth (smaller number of teeth) are for non-homogeneous structure such as rough/cheap plywood and small teeth (higher number of teeth) are for finer things. Just be cautious when using fine teeth blades on rough wood, it could bind if you do not keep the large 2 pieces in the same plane.

A:  This is about the 7 1/4" Steel Demon blade, it's designed to cut METAL, not wood.

A:  Thanks for bringing this to our attention! You are correct, this blade is for wood cutting applications. It appears there was a mix-up in the classification of this item on the site and we will make a correction.

A:  The Home Depot website cobble together various products of the same series. Look at the reviews with pictures: saws of different kinds (including metal ones and 4.5" diameter). The website does not even let me sign as Del, forces me to use Delv!

A:  I think you overestimate the average consumer's intelligence. Some of the questions you see in these Q&A sections are truly terrifying in how uninformed people are.

Great blade for finer woodwork. I used this blade for initial rip cuts for a table top. The extra teeth gave a cleaner cut and also discharged sawdust very well.

I absolutely love these blades. I've tried just about every brand on the market and nothing lasts as long. They are extremely sharp and have great temperature resistance. I always buy them from Home Depot because they often have the double pacts. The 12inch blade I've been using on my miter saw I've had for about two years and it's still sharp and shows almost no wear. Fantastic. However, there is one drawback. They cost. A lot. The 7 1/4 blades aren't too bad, but the 10 and 12 inch blades are terrible. Quality is, however, just super. As stated above, I'm still using the 12inch after two years. I go through about one 7 1/4 blade per year, so, the price is justified. I get my money's worth. I DO highly recommend this entire family of brand blades.

Beware this Diablo bade, Model # D0740R, Store SKU #793618 is just slightly undersized as it measures approximately 7-1/8 inch in diameter rather than 7-1/4 inch as advertised on the blade and by Home Depot. This smaller diameter size does make a difference on some miter saws as they will not quite cut all the way through the stock when making 45 degree or greater angle cut with this Diablo blade installed. We followed the saw manufacturer's instructions and maxed out the depth of cut to no avail with this undersized Diablo blade installed. Even more troubling is that while visiting Home Depot on 7/9/2018, I did a quick measurement of several in-stock Diablo 7-¼ inch saw blades and found all of them to also be undersized at approximately 7-1/8 inch in diameter. If I worked for Home Depot, I would sure want someone to let me know that there was a size issue with these Diablo 7-1/4" saw blades. Home Depot, why the size discrepancy?

Great for maple butcher block! Throughly impressed with how this blade cut through 1 3/4” thick maple butcher block. I got a sweet deal on a maple butcher block work bench top. 6ft wide by 3ft deep. Only problem was that at 3ft, the top was a little too deep to be practical in my garage. Still, I couldn’t pass up this deal. So I decided to cut it down. This meant i had to rip cut 6 inches off and wanted the cut clean enough to repurpose the piece that was cut off. I set up a fiber board with c-clamps as a guide and went to work with my 15a Milwaukee tilt-lok circular saw. The blade ate it up and asked for seconds. The results and pictures speak for the selves. No splintering or break out and not a hint of burning. Just a nice, clean, precise cut. 10/10 would buy again and would recommend for this application.
