Dalen Products 6 in. x 10 ft. Tan Stone Wall Border

The color faded. I ordered the tan to match the brick on my home, but before the summer was over, they had turned from tan to a light pinkish color. The no longer match my home. I would not recommend buying the tan if you want it to stay that color. I am going to have to either paint them or replace them with real rock or brick borders. I feel like I wasted my money and time installing these.

Great border! So easy to install! It is "open" in the back, so I just pushed mulch inside of it to cover. Had to cut 4 pieces and it was relatively simple to cut. Adds a nice touch to the flower bed rather than the black wrought iron fencing we had there.

Overall, I really do like the look of this garden wall. It is easy to snap together and lay out in the garden area. I used the gray, which is bolder in person than in the photos in the ad. It did not take me long, as I assembled all the pieces first, laid them where I suspected I'd want them to be and then I arranged them in a slight s-shape, first securing the two ends and then I shaped the size of the "s." It was easy to install the 9" nails. Once I got the wall standing straight up, I packed in the topsoil to make it all firm. Later I added more soil. My chief complaints and reasons for four stars (generous on my part) vs. five stars is that these are very expensive for what you get--plastic. Not only this, there was no thought given as to how to finish each end of this garden border wall, as it touches the fence, house, etc. Had it been formed in a circle, it would certainly continue and the connector pieces (that are approximately 6" long) would simply be finished off with a connector piece. It is at these ends with the connector pieces you slip in the 9" nail. Most of my nails I simply pushed in by hand. I used a rubber mallet on just a couple of nails. See my photos for the quite obvious unfinished ends of the wall. I had to use the connector piece (plastic "brick" with the nail holes in it) and turn it inward, as I can't imagine trying to shorten this piece. The company fell short by not giving the consumer a couple of shorter end pieces with nail holes in them to finish it nicely. I haven't seen similar comments on this yet, but I will look for a solution. For now, I can only camouflage half of that end piece with dark paint. I hope the photos help you to see what I mean about unfinished ends. On a happy note, it does look very nice when it's finished, and it went up easily. (I'm a 67 yr. old woman). I would still recommend simply because in no time at all you can have your garden finished and that's always a plus. I'd give 5 stars if they provided proper end pieces, in spite of the very high price for plastic. It comes with the top and bottom "layers" of "bricks" unattached to each other. You must snap them together, and I did it by simply sitting on my front step, holding the lower, longer piece between my knees while inserting one of the "male parts" into the "female part" and then I quickly whacked the other end into place, with the palm of my hand. I don't know if this helps anyone, but I hope so. Some were tedious to get in, but doable.

Yes it does look fake close up, but further away it looks great. Very fast and easy to install. Would have been nice if one end was cut even for the end. It was eay to cut with a hacksaw I got from the dollar store. I used 2 boxes for my garden. Could have used just one more piece but didn't want to buy another box for one piece. Would be nice to just buy one extra piece. So if anyone has any left overs...... lol. Will have to maybe get some bricks for the end. It is in a area you don't see from the road. Happy with this purchase. Would recommend.

Pros: Lightweight, Easy to install. May be a good choice if you are creating a new garden space. They do look pretty good from a distance. Cons: May be too lightweight for some applications. I'm in FL so we'll have to see how they fare during a hurricane. Not that easy to adapt lengths. The coupler caps can be cut in half, but if you are using them to edge in an already existing garden, you may run into problems cutting the base pieces and long caps. For those pieces, you're pretty much stuck with the original lengths because they are hollow in the back. It would be really helpful if the company came out with more explicit examples or instructions for how to adapt them. The company claims they can do curves but, we found that because you can't adapt the lengths, if you want to create a circle, say around a tree, you have to make the arc really big. The "coupler caps leave a gap between them and the top cap that is slightly too wide. It doesn't look quite right.. Also, it would be very helpful if the stakes were longer The ones they came with really don't get a good grip is loose or sandy soil. and you can clearly see there are stakes in the top of the cap. All in all, I'm not sure I would purchase again.

Very nice product. I needed it to plant on our hill. I put 9” wooden stakes into the ground (About 2 1/2 showing above ground) and screwed this product onto the stakes (about 3 stakes per section) to give the dirt and plants more stability. This product gave it a nice almost realistic stone look. Very happy with it.

Lovely realistic stone borders that were easy to install around my flowerbeds.

Excellent product. Easy to install, looks great. I will be buying more.
