Can this be installed from inside bathroom? As i have no access to attic!
Asked by: jack
It sounds like from the other responses it can, but I would be careful. The housing is quite large. I measured to make sure the size given in the product listing would work, but didn't realize the unit also has protruding metal pieces and goes back 6in. I couldn't angle it in the opening and had to get a smaller unit.

Is there a damper to prevent backdraft?

Is there a damper to prevent backdraft?
Asked by: Andrea
I am just looking at one I purchased today. There is a damper in the plastic connector from the metal housing to the duct. The damper work by gravity if the fan in installed in the ceiling. But if you want to install the fan on the wall the unit must rotate 90 degree on one side with the grill facing out from the wall and therefore the damper cannot close by gravity when the fan in switched off. One design flow that could have been resolved by giving the option to rotate the plastic connector with the damper inside in order to make it work if the unit it tilted in any direction..

I recently had a licensed contractor installed this fan, now when we take shower, there will be water dripping from the fan. Also it is not very powerful, my room is a small room like 7x7, but after one person takes shower, the room is full of mist and ceiling is wet with little noticeable water, what is the problem? I attached an image with water dripping from the fan.

You may not be drawing enough replacement air from under the door to replace the air being removed through the fan. Your fan vent may be blocked on the outlet side. You could have attic material laying against the outlet. I assume you're venting the moist air outside your home either through a wall or roof vent. If not, you're asking for major mold and rotting problems in your attic, on your roof and on your ceiling. You may have failed to seal the fan housing around the ceiling joist(s) or ceiling material, which will allow the fan to ALSO suck air out of your attic instead of the bathroom. Ceiling fans and wall fans MUST be 100% sealed if you want them to work as designed. The fan is not the problem. The problem , in all probability, is with the installation. This fan is more than adequate enough to remove the moisture from your shower room.
