I installed a switch to control the light and a second switch to control the fan.
I hope so because I installed it in the shower stall ceiling.
You should ask an electrician that. I do not think it would be a good idea
It was not possible for me. Maybe if you have a flexible bit extender, otherwise you have to screw it into the stud using the two side pieces that extend out with screw holes in them. Also, make sure the cover is flush with the ceiling before you decide where to screw it in. I had to unscrew and adjust it because the tabs that are supposed to guide you make it so the cover is not flush with the ceiling.
This is wired to be controlled either by one switch or two. One of the wires will be labeled for the light, just hook that one to the hot wire for the separate switch. Wire all the ground (bare copper or green) and neutral (white) wires together. This will give you the control for both switches.
Just finished the install. There are multiple ways to wire this fan, depending on how many switches one has/wants to install. In my case, I want the fan to function solely in humidistat mode and have no switches. The fan is hard wired directly to power using the black/white wire pair. I taped off the blue/white wire pair. The blue LED is always on, indicating humidistat mode and the fan comes on based on the setting of the Relative Humidity (RH) switch at 50, 60, 70 or 80 % RH. The CFM switch is set to 0, meaning that the fan does NOT run all the time. Had to call Delta to confirm this. Their instructions are lacking. Nice and quiet.
Yes, I would connect to a GFCI protected circuit.
The light is very bright. We have a dimmer for the light.
It does not have a bulb, at least not a standard bulb. It uses an LED panel made specifically for this unit. I believe that it can be replaced. The expected life span is several years.
the system is designed to work with 2 switches. Doing it different may be possible. You need to ask an electrician to be safe.
