This response applies to all shower installations where low-flow/pressure may be insufficient. Since 1992 federal law has mandated maximum flow of new shower heads to be 2.5 gallons per minute (gpm). There is no low limit. Manufactures often include low-flow washers with new units, allowing them to claim their units use less water than competitors. The washers may be loose in the parts bag or pre-installed in the upstream end of the shower head, diverter valve, or the hose found in handicap units. The time to check for these washers is BEFORE installation. This will save time, hassle, and possible damage when removing the new parts to inspect for the washers. DESCRIPTION: a low-flow washer will be black and have a small hole approximately 1/8 to 3/16 inch diameter in the center. Some units may have more than one washer available for those customers who wish to really conserve, but one is sufficient to reduce flow down to 1.2 - 1.6 gpm. The size of the shower head affects the perceived flow/pressure. With a low-flow washer installed, a large head may seem to have low pressure/flow, while a small head will seem to have much more. If a customer wants to conserve water, they can use a low-flow washer, but a large head will probably be unsatisfactory. FYI, hard water deposit buildups also cause low flow/pressure. So when you change out shower heads and assorted parts, be sure to change everything the water passes through from the wall out to the shower head. Last but certainly not least, put three full wraps of white nylon plumbers tape on ALL external threads. You will be glad you did. Best wishes on your new installation. This may not be what current plumbers do, but it is what I learned many years ago from my plumbing contractor family. It has served me well since the mid-1960's.
I had to disassemble the hand held holder from the slide assembly. Remove the small grey rubber plug, and remove the small screw. With great effort, twist and pry the bracket from the slide. You will find two o-rings on the shaft of the bracket. Lightly coat the o-rings with silicone grease and reassemble. The bracket can now be rotated to the desired angle in the slide assembly
What valve?? What model shower kit??
Horizontal (sideways) mounting of the bar may not provide enough space against the wall for the lever that locks the slide.
Porter is a Delta design exclusive to Home Depot. I ordered mine and it was shipped to my home at no extra charge.
Need a shower diverter to switch between the two
Hi! Thank you for your question! No handles for controlling water flow or temperature are included. Best Regards, Tim
