A:  Our Adjustable Shower Curtain Rod in Oil-Rubbed Bronze, 42-Inch to 72-Inch (560920) is a tension rod. Simply hold to the height you want and twist the two rods to lock in place.

Q:Is this a tension rod? I need a tension rod of these dimensions as my bedroom closet doesn't have a door, and I am not allowed to drill, etc. I'm hoping you all ascribe to the theory that there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Surprised by all the positive reviews
I am surprised that this is still getting really good reviews. It was already rusting before we had it a year. Unfortunately, it's in my kids' shower so I didn't notice it until it was pretty bad and also past the one year date. This is very disappointing since it only has a 1 year warranty. The finish was very nice in the satin nickel but it needs to be replaced. I'd suggest buying the Moen one that is similar in price and has a lifetime warranty. I'll definitely be looking for a different brand this time. Very disappointed.

After searching for a nickel look curtain rod that would expand enough to fit my 72” shower, I was happy to find this particular rod. I had read a lot of reviews describing difficulty with installation and flimsy construction. This rod is just what I wanted. Not only does it look more expensive than it is, it was easy to install. I ordered it online, and it arrived quickly. Very happy!

This shower curtain rod seems to be of good quality. It expands easily and fits tightly so it doesn't slip and can hold the weight of a shower curtain, no problem. It has a nice looking finish, and while it's steel, the finish SEEMS to be good enough that it won't rust. It's a nice bright white color. This is a tension rod, so no tools are necessary. It is made in China.

Ours is a standard tub/shower at about 58 inches. This Design House steel shower rod is more than enough in length, in fact it extends as long as 86 inches and I don't think you'll need a rod that long, but there it is, it fits sizes 58 to 86 inches, customizable to your needs. It looks and feels sturdy, the rod itself is not too thin, not too thick and the shower curtain rings we bought fit and move along nicely on it. It attaches to the wall tile super easily and quickly with the suction ends. There is a white version, which is less expensive, but we like the look of the steel.

Not much to be say about shower rods except that this one is sturdier than most that I've had. Definitely made out of a higher quality steel than some of the other flimsy ones being sold out there. I've actually had some that bent in the middle if you over tightened. That won't happen with this one. It's also got a nice chrome finish to it. All in all a good product.

THIS IS AN AVERAGE ADJUSTABLE SHOWER ROD. ITS A COMPRESSION ROD MEANT TO FIT BETWEEN TWO WALLS AND SPRING TIGHT IN THE FIT. THESE HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS AND DO THE JOB WELL. THEY ARE SIMPLE TO USE IN DESIGN AND FUNCTION. THEY COME WITH RUBBER END CAPS THE PREVENT THE ROD FROM DAMAGING YOUR WALL. ITS LIGHT WEIGHT BUT SEEMS STURDY SO IT SHOULD'NT BE AS PROBLEM TO HOLD MOST SHOWER CURTAINS.

Honestly, I thought all shower curtain rods were created the same. We had one that had been giving us fits for years that was purchased from another retailer. Now the new shower curtain rod had a really nice finish right out of the box. Now, one thing I liked was the spring action and how sturdy the rod was and how well put it sure felt it would remain. For sure recommended!

I was looking for a shower rod that would be long enough (80") and would be stylish and easy to install. This one is perfect. It has a beautiful finish that will go with any chrome or brushes nickel plated finishes that exist in your bathroom. It extends a full 86 inches! And looks great. The zinc that it is made of is extremely rust resistant and should last for several years. Plus, it has a one year warranty!

In the process of finishing a remodel in the guest bathroom and needed a shower curtain rod temporarily while waiting for the glass company to install the glass. I didn’t need anything extreme but needed something that would look nice and do it’s job. I saw a few and decided on this one from Design House at the Depot. It came quick and well packaged. My opening measures ~59 inches tile to tile and it adjusted to a perfect fit. The rubber pads on the ends do a great job of holding it in place. The finish is satin nickel and matched the fixtures perfectly. The rod measures about 1 inch in diameter. Super easy to install, no tools needed. A few turns to adjust the length and put it in place. The inner spring tension holds it securely. No need for drilling holes in the walls for a mount. Exactly what I needed and expected. Nice product!
