Requires trimming the wall exhaust flush with the wall. I used an angle grinder to clean it up after removing the protrusion. Has no positive lock feature. Fastened to the existing in-wall duct with three 1-1/2 in #8 screws (drilled a small pilot hole first). As I pushed the dryer back towards the wall, the quick connect would twist and disconnect from the wall. To prevent disconnecting, I drilled a hole through the two pieces and fastened them together with a single self-tapping screw.

Just finished installing this product; I'm not sure why this or similar product aren't standard on every install. The finished product makes connecting the dryer exhaust duct quick/easy.
As has been mentioned by another the challenge with installing this device is it not tapered and so it take some work to get it pushed into the exterior exhaust duct; my solution was to get it wedged in part way and use a block of wood and a hammer so I didn't break the lip while getting it push in so it was flush with the wall.
I don't seem to have any issues with keep it coupled but if it become and issue in the future I'll screw the two pieces together as others have mentioned.

Solved my ugly dryer vent look
Just finishing up a utility/laundry room renovation. The builder of my house, I don't know what he was thinking, decided instead of bringing the gas pipe and vent in nicely through the wall brought them straight up through the floor. Not only was it unsightly but I barely had enough space to connect the dryer vent to the exhaust. After looking at several options, one which I would have had to reroute the pipe through the sill plate I saw the Dryerdock and decided to try it. Not only does it solve the problem of connectin and disconnecting the vent if I have to move the dryer but the flange also covered up the irregular hole from piecing the stone tile around the hole. Don't know how this would have worked for a pipe coming out of the wall but in my case it worked perfectly for what I needed.

Great idea. Uncoupling problem fixed.
As mentioned by other reviewers, the connection easily comes uncoupled. I solved this by drilling a small hole through both flanges once connected. I then inserted a screw through the holes to prevent the connection from "unlocking".
Works great.
Fitting is stout and fixes a problem I had with existing pipe wiggling around and enlarging the hole in the Sheetrock.

Good idea, doesnt work for certain dryers
I have my dryer stacked on the washer. When it came time to push the washer and dryer into thier closet. The dryer vent kept unhinging. After 3 trys Just drilled two screws into the, it is not longer a quick connector. The dryer installers did use a metal dryer exhaust. Made a plastic on would have worked better.
May work for others didnt work to well for me.

vent hose quick connect
Easy to mount on the wall, snaps into place easily. Buy a worm clamp to mount the hose to this connector.

Great idea - does not fit
Like all dryer connection hardware, the idiots who make them fail to taper one piece so it will fit inside another. I am now going to have to have my exterior pipe replaced, too.
Please - engineers out there - build a carbon fiber actually flexible dryer vent that will not disconnect when the dryer has an out of balance load. Or when you push the dryer back in place.
Dryer manufacturers - recess the connecting pipe and give me more than 1/4 inch to clamp down on. And standardize the placement.
I want a hole in my house wall. I want a 16" dryer pipe of cast iron coming out of the back of the dryer - welded in place - poking through the wall beyond the brick. I put a vent cover on the end and silicone caulk the gaps and I'm done. Oh, except for securing the floor bolts (bolt-down dryer can't budge...).

Great wall interface
Used it to hook up a portable airconditioner through a wall. Small footprint, easy to disconnect.. easy to cap. I put this close to the baseboard so no one even knows it is there. Just dehumidified warm air going through.. not as intensive a use as dryer.. but this is the only small foorprint connector I have found

Great idea, poor execution
I bought this product when cleaning my dryer duct and replacing the connector hose. I figured if I was going to be removing the hose at least once a year to clean it out, I may as well make it easy on myself so I bought this.
It installed very easily on both ends. The problems began when I went to push the dryer back into place. I was using a semi-rigid metal hose, as suggested by the dryer manufacturer. Even with it already bent into the correct shape, the DryerDock kept popping apart. I was extra gentle with it the next time and had the dryer almost all the way pushed into place when it popped off again, forcing me to pull the dryer back out again. After that I took the DryerDock off and it's going back to the store for a refund.
The DryerDock is a great idea, but the execution is lacking. The tabs that lock it together need to be longer so that it can't pop apart so easily. Maybe this will work for others, but definitely did not work in my house. Therefore, I cannot recommend it.

Awesome little product. Easy, fast and great looking.
Installed this dryer quick connect and it works as described. Great! It's easy to install and in fact allows you to actually tighten the hose clamp around the hose. I've never been able to get a good tight fit otherwise. Highly recomend.
