Product Overview

  • Acts as a protective barrier for chimneys against rain and sparks
  • Stainless steel material provides resistance to corrosion
  • Specially designed for enhancing stove's efficiency
The DuraVent DuraPlus Round Chimney Cap is designed to stay cool on the outside, provide a hot draft on the inside, boost stove efficiency and has a fire-safe design that protects both the chimney and the building. This triple-wall chimney cap protects against dangerous sparks, helps prevent rain from entering the chimney and features two insulating layers consisting of a ceramic blanket plus air space. The ceramic blanket insulation is held securely in position, eliminating hot spots common with loose-fill type insulations. In the event of a creosote fire, the compressible blanket insulation permits the chimney liner to expand outwardly in a radial direction. Designed for normal, continuous operation at 1000°F flue gas temperatures, DuraPlus is subjected to rigorous and stringent HT requirements of the UL standard, including 1-hour at 1400°F, plus three 10-minute chimney fire tests at 2100°F. Required where chimney pipe terminates above the roof line, this cap comes with a spark arrestor screen and has removable screws for easy cleaning.
  • Made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel for long-lasting, reliable use
  • Protects against dangerous sparks and helps prevent rain from entering the chimney
  • Suitable for appliances fueled by wood, oil, coal or gas
  • Required where chimney pipe terminates above the roof line
  • Includes spark arrestor screen
  • Removable screws for easy cleaning
  • Limited lifetime warranty

I have a single walled 6 inch pipe for my chimney. Will this fit/work for it.
Asked by: Mama
Just wanted to update everyone that it did fit/work for my 6” single walled chimney. It fits inside snuggly just like it would for a double or triple walled chimney. We did however take the extra precaution of putting a couple of self tapping screws through the sides just to be safe.

Why is there a 2" gap when you put the 12" diameter cap on a 6" triple wall pipe who's outside diameter is 10" .....shouldn't the caps outside diameter be 10" also to fit snuggly?
Asked by: PuddinTane
As long as the inside diameter (ID) of the existing pipe accepts the outside diameter (OD) of the cap, you are ok. There is an outer flange and cap that makes up the rest of the unit. That is for ventilation and cooling. You should get the new unit to fit in at least 2”.

i'm having clogging problems at the spark arrestor screen, should i cut the screen open or remove the screen completly? i've only burnt 2.5-3 cords, can anyone recommend a replacment cap? thanx for your answer.
Asked by: thomas
DO NOT REMOVE the Screen, you may set your Roof on Fire. Clogging is due to NOT ,using "Seasoned" Wood, or not cleaning the chimney enough. 2.5 to 3 cords, is a lot of wood to burn. How many times did you clean the chimney using this much wood ? Are you burning the stove Hot enough?
