            Table top grill
This table top grill is the perfect companion for tailgating. Easily transported but still large enough to fit a bunch of food. Temperature is easily controlled with vents on the side and can be used to cold smoke food to by keeping vents closed and using a tube with pellets. You won’t regret this grill, even with its short stature it will deliver big results.

Great Little Grill and Smoker Box
We were excited to get our new Dyna-Glo Portable Tabletop Charcoal Grill. Perfect size for camping or for a small backyard/patio. Putting it together was about 20 minutes for one person. Basically just some nuts and bolts. The welding appears strong (see photo). It has a vent on each side of the grill, which is very nice for temp control. You can easily fit a package of hot dogs or five to six burgers. We used a starter block to heat up some coals for pre-seasoning, (as suggested in the instructions). If you are going to do something like this and pile your coals high you will want to pile them inside the grill and not on the pull out tray. There is not a lot of height to slide the charcoal and tray back into the grill (see photo). That pull-out tray sure does make dumping the ashes easy. A big bonus for us is that it is going to attach to our larger charcoal grill and be used as a smoker box. We currently have one attached that is worn out big time. Although we can't name the brand in this review, it is not a Dyna-Glo and yet it is compatible. So if you are looking for a replacement smoker, check this out. Happy Grilling (or Smoking)!

            Great little grill!
Super easy to put together, only problem I had was at one point I went to move my hand while putting the grates in and the lid was sharp enough to so slice across my hand. The grilling grates are heavy duty, great for heat retention. The placement of the vents allowed for easy adjustments to the cooking temperature. We were able to fit 8, quarter pound burgers on at once. The grill heated fast and retained consistent temperature with minimal attention.

            Decent with several design flaws
A decent little grill. Has a few quirks to be aware of but can be overcome without much effort if your not too picky. I highly recommend following the directions and do a full cook to season and set the paint so plan ahead. Will take about 3 hours. Mine had chemical smell the first time I used it from the paint fyi. Wasn't present on 2nd cook. Usability: I found the hatch lid makes it hard to use all the grill space for items that need a flipper like burgers. There is a couple of inches to the left or right of the opening so that space is better suited to brats or hot dogs or chicken. Items that can be flipped with tongs. The Hatch opening is 14 inches wide. Grill is 13" deep of usable space due to sloping. For just burgers I would put the usable space at around 170 inches. Can easily cook two whole chickens as advertised. Maybe one small turkey but that would be very tight. Can easily handle 4 of the smaller pork loins. Maybe a brisket but getting the temp right would take a lot of fidgeting. The grill grates are nice. Flatter and smooth. Not the round rods that let food more easily fall through. Grates are in two pieces makes it easier to get them in and out if needed. easy to put in the sink to clean. Charcoal is loaded in a slide out basked which is perfect to refill when doing longer slower cooks. Also makes it very easy to clean. The grill holds 40 briquettes evenly. About 2/3 of a standard chimney. It’s a smaller grill so doing offset might be less effective but you can do it. The slide out basket lets you remove charcoal if you wanted to sear a steak then let it finish slowly. After one hour of dumping in 40 prelit briquettes the internal temp was an even 350. Build quality: Grill weights 35lbs. Easy enough to be truly portable but sturdy enough to last a long time. There are no lightweight hinges or brackets that could break easily. Made from thicker metal. Less temperature fluctuations. quicker recovery when opening the hatch. Feels solid. Should last a long time. Its standard steel so don’t leave it in the rain. May need touch up every so often. I suggest a good rub down with oil every so often before cooking. Especially in the fall if storing for winter. But being so portable its what I plan to use in the winter and put my large gas grill away. I am hoping to fit a spatchcock turkey on it for Thanksgiving. The ground below it doesn’t get hot. Should be fine to use on a wooden picnic table. Be sure to test yourself. The side handles do get hot but it is balanced. You could move it mid cook without issues. Metal is thick enough to handle the bumps and knocks of being moved around and transported in a pickup. The hatch lid handle is hollow and stays cool. Legs are sturdy and stable. Design: Could be better. Seems like they miniaturized a larger version which doesn’t always translate well. Mainly the hatch door prevents getting a flipper in to turn burgers along the edges. A lot of smoke escapes around the hatch as it doesn’t fit tight and isn’t heavy enough to lay tight against the grill. Not an issue for quick cook items. There are also gaps around the charcoal draw allowing air in. You can compensate for both issues by closing the left and right air vents more. Left vent is high, right vent is low. Good for distributing smoke chips/ chunks. With the slide out tray more wood chunks can be easily inserted or removed. If doing an offset cook put the hot side on the right. I would like to see design changes like having the entire top half open instead of a hatch but overall I think this will do well for its intended purpose which is quick to medium cooks. However if your experienced with charcoal this can do longer cooks as well.

            Great grill to travel with
Dyna-Glo Portable Tabletop Charcoal Grill in Black, this is my second one of these grills, first one lasted many years. I replaced it because I left my old one for years and the grills got rusty. It takes minimal tools to assemble, probably a 30 minute job. The instructions are easy to follow, the longest part of the assembly is the half hour of seasoning time to burn off all the shipping and storage oils it is shipped with. Great idea having the charcoal grate slide out to add more or add wood chips to flavor your food. Works good for me as it takes up little space under the rv, but it is a good quality charcoal grill to cook on. Works just right on a campground picnic table.

            Very well made
A little heaver then expected. But that's a good thing. It should last for years. Even cooking and heat control. The slide out charcoal tray makes it very easy to add charcoal as needed. The deal air flow vents control burn rate and temperature. Great little grill.

It retains heat well, so you can use less charcoal. Like the way the hood works. Also easy to clean out the ashes.
