The machine will definitely devour weeds; however, the engagement/disengagement of self propelled feature is difficult to control; especially on hillside!

Works very well, Effective cutting. Heavy duty. Only wish it had an on/off control on the cutter.

This monster weedeater functions very well, but restringing it is difficult for my 72-year-old fingers, especially with the thickest string it accepts. Unfortunately, that happens frequently with the tough scotch broom I need to clear.

It went too fast for me to keep up, even on low speed. The black handle kept falling out of the hole. It did cut great but I am not as young and strong as I used to be so it was a bit too much for me even though I tried it a couple of times and cut tall grass and weeds easily with the strings that lasted a long time.

        Expected better
While this machine does an ok job of grass/weed cutting, it is very average in the way of power and almost worrhless for thicker vines. The self propelled feature is painfully slow, and the forward control arm proviided for it is awkard to use unless in open space. Also, the control arm/bar regularly pops out of the hole that should secure it. My biggest dissapointment is lack of a secondary cutting method like the blades included with a competitor’s equivalent model. If I had shopped diligently, I would have selected to go with it.

          Handles the Toughest Situations!!
Perfect for the tough jobs. We use the 1610SP for handling cattails around ponds, high weeds along the railroad tracks, and any other area that would be considered dangerous for our zero turns. It’s also WAY easier on the back than hand held trimmers. Definitely recommend!!
