Answer This Question

A:  Hello! Thank you for your question. Yes, the wheeled trimmer can be used around a pond if the unit it not at risk of coming in contact with water. The wheeled trimmers are designed to trim grass along retaining walls, fences, raised flowerbeds and trees to reach across a wider area or areas where lawnmowers can't reach.

This is a heavy duty weed wacker. I cleared pasture grass and weeds up to 4 feet. However, even though the line is .155, it breaks often with heavy work. I am experimenting with 19" by 1/8 inch cable with the ends soldered. That cuts throudh the thickest grass, but, if not careful, can damage trunks of trees.

        The Best of Machines
I purchased the WT01610T. It is the mid-grade selection in this series. The Briggs and Stratton engine starts on first pull. The pull start is smooth and effortless. It has all the power you could want. I use it kind of like a bush hog at times. The level (no tilt) feature is best for this. When I trim, I use the max tilt position. The tilt AND offset is something no other walk behind trimmer has. When in the no "tilt" position, the trimmer is pretty much front and center, which is great for heavy brush/grass. As you advance the tilt, notch by notch, the trimmer head body also shift to an offset at the same time. So you can go full tilt, and max offset. It allows me to roll straight but trim off to side (offset) AND tilt in the downward direction towards the base of the structure. This gives a clean trimming action towards the tilt AND it does not scalp the lawn on the other side towards the lawn. I was blown away by this clever the design. It allows me to do whatever I want, finesse trim or brush hog. I will update if anything changes. I am surprised that there are so few reviews out there for this machine. I researched for several months. I know every WB trimmer out there. This is probably the best one ever made. I have never written a review before. After today, I had to.
