This 1/2 horsepower submersible sump pump is a perfect replacement for my existing one. The wide angle float switch is a great idea, no more worry about the cable bending at a sharp angle and the wires breaking, making the pump inoperable. The pump has a plastic base, which help eliminate rust in this damp location, thereby keeping the pump setting level at all times. This pump at 1/2 hp works very well lifting my waste water up 8 feet.

I received this sump pump to replace my existing pump. Installation is straightforward but is limited to pits that are 18" or larger - check the size of your sump pit prior to purchase. The cable length is adequate and made of insulated rubber. I have a Digital Life water sensor next to my pit to let me know if the pit is overflowing - a nice upgrade for future pumps would be an WiFi connection alert you of failure.

I was initially intrigued by the gallons per hour capacity of this unit. However, the 3600 GPH listed is only for a 0 foot lift, in other words it will only pump this many gallons per hour if it is pumping it horizontally and not vertically. In my case, I needed at least an 8 foot lift. The chart on the box indicates that for a 10 foot lift, I will get 2280 GPH but this should be sufficient for my purposes. You want to be sure to check total lift and the flow rate to make sure it is compatible for what you need. Also, my basin is lined with gravel so installation recommends the unit be placed on 2 bricks since it must be placed on a flat surface. If you’re basin already has a flat surface this would not be necessary. Since this unit has a tethered float, you will also need to make sure there is adequate clearance for the float to rise in order to activate the pump. It is recommended that the basin be at least 18 inches in diameter. After placing the pump in the basin you will want to manually lift the float to make sure there are no obstructions and that it rises freely. As we are currently in a drought situation, it may be a while before I can test the actual performance of the pump but based upon the features provided, I’m sure I will be pleased.

Was the float switch being obstructed by the discharge pipe, side wall of the basin, or anything else? Please contact the professionals at ECO-FLO, 877-326-3561. Thanks.
