Save a coin and get the poplar edge banding, if you are going the liquid world of colors. Proper ventilation when you, those VOC’s are hard on the heart of us humans. Never knew until I had heart disease. My two cents.
Does this edge banding leave adhesive on the iron? In other words, can I use my clothes iron, or should I buy a used iron just for edge banding?
It will. Use parchment paper (not wax) between iron and tape.
The adhesive is on the underside of the banding, so it doesn't actually touch the iron. You heat it through the veneer.
As a former cabinet maker, i recommend you don’t use mom’s/wife’s if so grab some plywood to build a doghouse for you, lol. Consider it your new craft tool & you show her you thought of her also.
Can I apply this over areas where I used wood filler?
Yes it can

Sure, it can be used as a border around a mirror that is on a wall.
How sharp a corner can this bend befor cracking and needing to be applied in segments?
This can be rolled into about a 3" radius along with the grain.
