A: Hi Bill. Yes, these brackets sell individually and include the fasteners to attach the 1.9" EZ Round Handrail as well as a 5/16" x 2-1/2" stainless steel lag screw to attach the bracket to wood supports (e.g. studs). The brackets are included in quantities in the EZ Handrail Kits such as the "8 ft. Textured Black Aluminum Round Straight Hand Rail Kit" model# EZA8KIT-HB. Thank you for your clarifying question. A: 2-1/2 inches from center of cup to exterior face of flange. See picture.
A: The distance from the wall where the mounting attaches to the outer edge of the bracket is 2 3/4 inches. The distance from the wall where the bracket mounts to the outside of the handrail is 3 7/16ths inch.
A: Use the holes on the bracket for where to mark for drilling the holes after determining spacing of brackets. I used masking tape on rail to help show the marks for drilling. String can used for straight alignment of brackets. After holes are drilled, attach brackets then attach to wall.
A: I used a clamp to hold the rail to the bracket (once installed on wall). Then using a drill made pilot holes through the rail following the holes in the bracket.
A: There are 2 predrilled pilot holes in the rail part of the bracket. Bracket also includes 2 sheet metal screws. Mount the bracket to the post, align top with rail and drill 2 pilot holes into the rail for the screws.
A: There are two small holes under the area where the rail sits on the bracket. Use a 1/8th in drill bit to drill two holes for the metal screw to to inserted into the rail. Screws come with the brackets.
A: I can't see why not. the handrail is attached with a screw under the bracket so what sits in the bracket saddle should not matter.
A: Hi. Yes, either a 2" or 1 7/8" wood dowel will fit with this cradle bracket. I have not tested this application, so please be very thorough in testing the overall strength of the handrail before it is used. Thank you for your question. Dan H. (EZ Handrail Dev. Team)
