The EZ ADA 1.9 in. Round Handrail System is engineered for interior and exterior stairs, ramps, and walking surfaces. This sturdy structural handrail can handle the busiest commercial environments, yet is stylish enough for interior applications. A: Carolyn, this is a very strong (rigid) aluminum tube and will not easily flex 5 inches; however, it can be done with proper clamping and weights. I know that some contractors use a muffler bender or manual pipe bender to accommodate slight curves.

Q:We have a curving concrete stairway from our dock to the house. Can you offer a suggestion how I could use this rail? If I use several newels, would there be enough flex to work?

A: This handrail along with the EZ Adjustable Angle (model# eza555-w) will allow you to create curved handrail from your home to your dock. As you mention, the more bends will require more newels. This handrail does not easily bend.

I bought a Freud aluminum/metal blade for my miter box first so the aluminum would cut perfectly clean and square and it went together very nicely. I followed the instructions to bond the connectors with epoxy ( I used JB Kwik Weld dark Grey 6 min.) which made a very close color match to the Bronze color. This resulted in a good strong railing with no wiggle. My only gripe is that the bronze paint is not very robust. Even from the factory, there are dings and chips. I dropped a piece on the floor and it chipped off the paint resulting in some choice words.

Used it to make some handrails

People who are looking to buy this already know what they are getting. I used it to build a handrail for some exterior stairs. The pipe is standard dimensions so it works well with the other handrail components that I bought.

One of the best looking handrail systems on the market

This handrail system is one of the best looking handrails I have ever installed. It is light weight, easy to cut, and easy to bend with a 2 inch conduit bender. People have been driving by and stopping to look at the handrail and they ask where it was purchased. Of course the answer was The Home Depot.
