About This Product

Techniseal EZ Sand is a trusted and proven mix of graded sand and binder that flows smoothly down joints for a fast and effective installation of pavers or slabs on surfaces exposed to normal traffic. Easy to work with, this jointing sand starts to set only a few-minutes after activation and quickly becomes resistant to water erosion (rain, splashes, sprinklers, etc.). It is a budget-friendly alternative to higher performance sand, for installations carried out in lighter-duty environments.

I used 2 buckets of product to cover my 14 x 14' patio. Very easy to use and coverage was perfect.

Looks good to me
Our first time using p sand to replace 20 yr old joints. The p sand was easy to install and has hardened nicely. Just to give an idea, our patio is 500 square feet, prepping took us 60 hours to powerwash, pull weeds, dig out old grout (which was still holding well in many spots), level up some sunken spots, and straighten bricks as best we could. Pouring p sand, sweeping, adding water took another 10 hours.

It’s unfortunate that this item is kept outside in the rain. A large portion of the sand was not usable due to being wet. The portion that was dry worked ok.

The worst product I ever use
My paver patio is ruined after using this garbage I don't know what I will do now.

      Worst sand
This is half pebbles instead of sand. Much of it is too big to get into the paver joint.

        Gotta use a plate compactor
The key to this stuff is using a plate compactor. I did a small section with one bucket of sand and no compactor using just a broom and another section with a plate compactor. The differences were clear in the second section. The sand packed down nicely. The directions clearly state that a plate compact is necessary.

          Beyond terrible.
I've been putting down polymeric sand every few years on my paver patio, and this is by far the worst "sand" I have ever seen. "Sand" is a stretch for what this stuff is. It's more course than the pebbles on an ashpault shingle. Some pieces are larger than ½"x¼". Awful grading on this stuff, and it doesn't seem to have hardened like actual polymeric sand from a masonry store. You WILL be disappointed. Now to suck it back up with my shop vac, pour back in the bucket and return it.

            Works as intented
This sand filled all the gaps in the walkways I built. It helps stiffen the walkway after it was laid on properly tamped leveling sand. Be sure to follow the instructions and tamp in between applications in order to utilize its full potential

We recently powerwashed our paver driveway and walk. We realized the sand needed to be re-filled so we used this product as described on the side of the bucket - lightly broom into cracks, leaf blow excess away, then slightly wet the cracks with a shower hose. It hardened up nicely and I can’t believe how crisp and finishes our driveway looks. I am hoping the hardened cracks will keep the weeds at bay at least for a while. I highly recommend this product, I am sure it is going to keep our pavers in place and looking crisp !

Techniseal polymeric sand so far has been easier to use and gives better results than earlier products - less surface staining and better misting results - applied to pavers.
