Earthgro by Scotts Red Mulch uses Scotts Color Advantage to provide year-long color, guaranteed. Made from forest products, Earthgro Red Wood Mulch helps conserve soil moisture, moderate soil temperature and prevent weeds naturally by blocking growth and access to sunlight when applied at a 3 in. depth for longest color, keep mulch dry for 24-hours after application. To optimize the red mulch color, it is recommended to turn or rake the top 1 in. of mulch every 3-months to 4-months.

Q:When will this stop giving me slivers? My landlord laid this about a foot thick over my entire backyard space and because it seems to be almost mostly powder rather than chips, it is giving me slivers and spreading everywhere.

NOT RED!
Why didn’t I believe the reviews about the color not being red?!!! i purchased 30 bags, 4 out of 30 were actually red.

I love the color of this product. It makes the plants and the artificial turf just POP ! Everyone who has seen it just loves the transformation from the old rock.

Where Scott's Quality Control?
Where is Scott's Quality Control? When I buy red mulch, I expect RED mulch! Bought 18 bags from the exact SAME pallet. 3 bags were RED, and 15 bags were BROWN (see photo proof). And, the stuff is not cheap. Bags size went from 2 cubic to 1.5 cubic for the same price! If you want brown mulch, this is for you. However, if you want red mulch, DO NOT BUY. (Run away, do not walk). Scott reputation is declining.

I order a total of five pallets of the Earthgro red mulch, two separate deliveries. The first three pallets were excellent this delivery of two pallets were old mulch and moldy. Very disappointed, just look at the proof of delivery pictures and you will see

I bought 12 bags of red mulch and when I used it I found 4 of the bags were a different color almost brown so I had to purchase more red mulch to cover the brown mulch in the red label bags so I spent $10 additional and more labor than a 75 yr old man should do

Color is not as advertised
I use about 50 bags of mulch for all my beds. I was happy to see this on sale. I always use red much. I loaded up 20 bags labeled as red. I was just wanting to add a fresh level to freshen up the look. When I started installing the mulch it is clearly brown NOT red. Now I am going to have to purchase more mulch to match the other areas. Perhaps the reason this was on sale is because it is not labeled correctly. Disappointed the additional cost & work this will cause me.
