Yes they can be connected in series, you have to hardwire them. They do provide a plug that you just push the connecting wires into that is very easy to add lights for.

Very bright, not a plug and use light
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This designers fountain LED strip light is truly bright. It has 4,000 lumens. We placed it in our 2 car garage and it is really nice and bright. I can see everywhere in there now. It was somewhat easy to install. ***Please NOTE you need to know how to install lights to install this. It’s not the kind you just plug into an outlet, you have to wire it. It comes with instructions and it’s own wires, so if you know how to do Electrical wiring you should be able to do it yourself. I don’t, my father and husband did it and it took them some figuring out. It’s a good light, meant for commercial use because it can be used continuously for 50,000 hours. I will be turning on and off but there are times when people forget to take it off which is why it’s perfect for us. It says it’s made to save energy and lower maintenance costs, sounds good. It’s also says it uses 30% less power than fluorescent light bulbs. It’s quick, doesn’t make any humming noise like fluorescent fixtures. I have only had it for about a week so I can’t say how it will last but so far it’s very good.

This LED strip light is billed as for commercial use. I used it for garage bench lighting where it gives a good bright light for potting plants, cleaning or sharpening tools, and charging batteries. It mounts easily on a ceiling outlet box It was easy to mount on the ceiling with two provided screws and anchors, and to run a wire from the overhead light box nearby. The light uses just 40 watts of electricity, far less than equivalent incandescent bulbs, and less than fluorescent bulbs. And it doesn’t heat up or hum or flicker. The light is compact, just 2” wide, 2¼” deep and 48” long, much more compact than incandescent or fluorescent bulbs would be. The package says it should last 50,000 hours, much longer than incandescent or fluorescent bulbs, saving both replacement effort and cost. It is suitable for damp locations. It can be connected to a dimming switch, for which there are special instructions. This is a bright, efficient, long-lasting LED strip light.

Very nice light. The color of the light is perfect for working. 3500K is perfect for true colors and detail work. Installation was very easy. It does not come with a switch. My previous light had the pull chain so I will add one to this light. If you have a switch nothing to worry about. Overall a perfect replacement for fluorescent. The light comes on instantly. It's quite warm now but in the winter I will be very happy when the light comes on instantly. The base is about half the size of the fluorescent light. The cover is a bit flimsy and clips in so it would probably pop off or crack if you hit it with something like a ladder or piece of wood. But the LED's are very tiny on a strip fastened to the metal cover. The cover snaps onto the base.

Great little light for over your workbench, in your workshop, garage or where ever you need a good source of light and don't have a lot of room to mount it. The fixture is 4' long and has a single strip of LED lights that gives off 4000 lumen of 3500K light. The fixture itself is well built and to make mounting easier, there are two wire straps that hold the actual lighting half of the fixture free of the main housing so you can mount the box to the surface you want without completely separating the two. I mounted mine in the laundry area off my main bathroom and it works really great. Much better light than a single florescent tube.

Initial viewing: The box is a nice, sturdy container, that holds the fixture nice and secure, with the fixture fully assembled. Once the fixture has been freed from the box, the lens can be removed by shifting it to one side, lifting that side and then unhooking the other side. The light assembly can be removed by “squeezing” it to unhook it from the tabs, and then lifting. That will revel the ballast and the wiring. It is a cleanly constructed unit with a quick connect plug, that you can simply insert the wiring into, eliminating the need for wire connectors, with the exception of the bare ground wire. Installation: I mounted this to the ceiling, using a 2 x 4 going perpendicular with the joists, and then screwed the fixture to the 2 x 4. I knocked out the plug on one of the ends, placed a gromet in, and attached a 14/2 power cord, with a standard 3 prong plug on the other end, to plug into the ceiling outlet. A nice feature of the light, is that they have a pair of cables attached to the light assembly, that prevent it from falling away from the base. Once the light was mounted, I replaced the light assembly, making sure that all the wires and cables, were inside and not pinched, then replaced the lens cover and plugged it in. I flicked the wall switch and brought some light into the garage/man cave. Summary: This is a well-constructed, easy unit to work with, and based upon the MTBF (mean time before failure) should last 50,000 hours, or over 5.7 years without shutting it off. It lights up immediately when the power is turned on, and is quiet, no humming. It is more expensive, but, think about it, in a garage, where you may have the light on for 2 hours a day, you won’t have to replace a bulb for 68.5 years! You can’t lose. It produces almost the same amount of light as a fixture with 3, 40 Watt, fluorescent bulbs at a fraction of the cost, and you have no need to take up space storing extra bulbs.

Provides a nice bright, white light. I installed it in my laundry room as an upgrade from a tired four foot fluorescent fixture (which had just started making the typical fluorescent hummm). This is an excellent replacement (LED, no hummm), the light is perfect for a laundry room, garage, commercial area where a bright light is required. It was easy to install (by myself - about 1.5 hours). I took a few screenshots of the steps I thought important (see comments). I really like this light, great for what I'm using it for.

This light is quite bright and has a good color temperature for a shop or a work room, the color temperature, I would call it about 5800k it is just slightly less blue than my 6500k T8 bulbs, and a fair about whiter than my T12 cool white bulbs. The light output is about equal to 2-T8 32 watt 4ft fluorescents or about 3-T12 4ft fluorescents. The quality is about what you see for fluorescent fixtures, fairly light weight metal. The lens cover is quite light weight and thin, you will need to be careful with it. The fixture itself is quite easy to install, it comes with screws, wall anchors, wire nuts and 2 plates that snap to the back of the fixture to cover the electrical if you are mounting it to one, all that is needed is to push the wires into the quick connect plug, hook up the ground, and screw the light to the ceiling. A couple of nice features are that the plug on the quick connect has 4 holes so you can daisy chain lights, it also will unplug from the light if you need to change your fixture. It has wires to add in a dimmer is you so desire. The light also has "safety cables" that hold up the LED part to the base while you are installing and wiring it. The mounting holes are in kind of funny places toward the end of the fixture and are fine if you are installing it lengthwise with rafters or drilling your own holes in drywall but the do not line up with the joists if you are mounting perpendicular to the rafters, so you would need to drill your own mounting holes. It is easy to take off the lens cover by just squeezing a little and pulling. To remove the LED strip from the base you just use a small screwdriver and pry a little between the base and the LED strip and pull to release the clips. All in all a nice fixture that would be a nice replacement for a two tube 4ft fluorescent fixture.

Perfect solution for my poorly lit, residential, two-car garage. I replaced a single incandescent light fixture. Installation was simple (about one hour). The light is bright white and since the fixture is four feet long, it distributed the light more evenly in the garage. I recommend taking a few minutes and reading the installation instructions. Just makes the entire installation so much easier. I didn't use the included drywall anchors. Instead I prefer pop-toggles, since this light is located above my cars, pop-toggles are more secure (although the assembly is very light, not much chance of falling). Instant on/off, no noise or hum and very bright light at reduced cost, but, more important in Florida, less heat.

Works fine, puts out a huge amount of light. Installation was a bit of a pain but nothing too terrible, I had it done in under an hour.

These are the only economically priced, 4 foot long, LED strip lights that have electrical knock-outs at both ends. Most of the "other' LED strip lights have a proprietary connector. I needed to ceiling mount my lights down a long hallway, powered through conduit. These did the job nicely.
