A:  Not for heavy loads. Will support plywood or individual boards, but not body weight. Whatever you would trust a 2 x 4 to support.

A:  This system puts all the weight on your tailgate, NOT the bed itself... How much weight can your tailgate stand before it becomes distorted and no longer shuts right? I have a Ridgeline with a 5 foot bed, when I load tons in it longer than 5 foot, I put a 2x4 across the edge of the bed, at the tailgate, to keep the weight of the temporary extended bed floor OFF the tailgate itself.. That said, I DO use the tailgate as a workspace and pile tools on it, stand on it, etc... a bigger tailgate WOULD be nice... Understand too, that the leverage created by the 2x4s, increase the load on the tailgate exponentially... Tailgates ARE strong, but hopefully this rig would break BEFORE the tailgate is damaged...

A:  I install the set that I purchase in a different manner than recommended I place the front one's in the recommended location but the rear one's were install in the back edge of the bed were it meets the tail gate using threaded inserts with stainless steel screws this way the attachment is stronger and use PT 2X4 they are stronger than pine 2X4's I place a 3/4" sheet of plywood on top and had a friend of mine that weights 323 lbs stand on it with no problems Installing it in this manner makes it stronger and also takes some of the stress place on the tail gate

A:  The screws are short. I recommend using longer self-tapping screws, especially if you have a coating or plastic covering on your tailgate. I balanced on one 2 X 4 and I weigh in at 250 lb.(Note: good quality 2X4 and longer screws) I also use mine to extend my tailgate for carrying longer items.

A:  Works well as a saw horse. Could be used to stabilize long (light) loads

A:  There are two brackets that you install on each side of your truck bed. You insert a 2 x 4 into each side and they work like an extension of the tailgate. I put a piece of plywood or old table top on the 2 x4s and it serves as a table.

A:  The tailgate sawhorse is designed for a stabalizer NOT as a load rated product. The load weight should be in the box of the truck. If you need a load rated product please look at one of the "Big Bed Products.
