Tool needs improving................
I do not understand the rave reviews unless all you are doing is picking up paper, or something lightweight. This does grip , but it can not hold anything weighing over a couple of pounds. Internal wire cable eventually pulls through the tool when trying to hold on to something with some weight. When trying to hold anything of weight , it can not hold onto the item for very long before the cable breaks from the jaws and becomes useless. I now use it to pick up dog poop because it doesn't work for anything with any weight. I have broke at least 3 of these and Home Depot just keeps replacing them.......Complete waste of money.

    Can't reach? Get a gripper
Overall I'm happy with this gripper. We have cabinets that go to the ceiling in our kitchen and the top shelf is virtually impossible to reach for my wife. She usually uses a set of salad tongs to pull items down. This is perfect for her. The gripper part itself is very rubbery and grabs with ease. It's only designed to hold small items, and it does that perfectly. The articulating end is a nice feature for picking up different items from different angles. My only concern is the plastic of the trigger. The wire that runs through the shaft connects to the trigger and this doesn't appear to be too strong, however it's not going to be abused and should last for a long time. Please note in the video that the can i'm using is larger than average (over 1lb of meat and potatoes), which is why it took a little more effort go get it in and out of the jaws. A slightly smaller can or anything else wont present this problem.

This grabber makes my life much easier!
If you have a bad back and can’t bend, you’ll love this grabber. Very easy to use-despite my small, arthritic hands. It even picks up dust bunnies and pieces of paper! I used it for years and just got another to keep in the car.

      Best On The Market!
I have been using Ettore's 34 inch Grip'n Grab Reach Tool for several years due to back issues. It is the best on the market! There are a couple others that look just like Ettore's but they are unable to pick up small objects. Ettore's can pick up everything! I could not function without it!

Ettore grip n grab is the best on the market.
The Ettore grip n grab is great. I use mine all the time. This grabber tool I have ever used. It is good for picking up empty beer and soda containers. I like to crush my aluminum cans and the grip n grab is great for picking up the crushed cans so I don't have to bend over repeatedly. I have picked up a quarter off the floor that my old butter fingers couldn't seem to hold on to. The grip n grab is only rated at 5 lbs. Lifting capacity, it doesn't sound like much but, every grabber i have considered were only rated at about 2 lbs. I have used a few less expensive grabbers and they all left me unimpressed with their performance.
