Q:Put pump in sump lifted the float arm, pump ran . Water into sump the float won't raise to turn switch on ! Water on floor unless I physically lift up to pump ??
by|Jan 29, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  This pump requires the arm to be completely straight. If it is not straight, the float will rise about 99% of the way and then not go up anymore. Ensure the arm that sticks out to hold the rod is adjusted so when untouched, the rod does not touch the arm in any way. -GP Support

Q:I do not know the horsepower of my previous pedestal some pump. This is used for washing machine discharge from basement pit up to drain pipe. Is the 1/3 hp sufficient?
    by|Jan 27, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Kathy - As the manufacturer, we have to say that the pump should only be used in clear water and not as an effluent pump. That being said, we can say that the pump can move water up to 59 gallons a minute. -GP Support

Q:What is purpose of anti-lock hole in drain line? Never used one for 3 previous pumps. Can I use it without a check-valve? Have had 3 other pumps and did not use a check-valve. Working well w/o one in service basement. OK for water to stand in sump.
      by|Jan 10, 2024

      Answer This Question

A:  ElCid - The Anti-lock hole is to prevent airlock. It will spill a little water from here but for the most part, the water that comes out of this hole is not very noticeable. As far as the check valve, we advise that one be put on the line. -GP Support

So upon installation and use during rain events I’ve had no issues. Hopefully I get 10years out of this like the last one

Impeller shattered within 2 months of light use.
Pump works ok until it doesn't. I heard it running and not turning off for a while and went to investigate and found it was hot from running continuously because it wasn't pumping any water. I opened it up and the impeller is an incredibly flimsy plastic part that had exploded. Normally it runs for about 1 minute every 30 minutes in my sump setup when it rains which is why I say "light use."

Thank you for your review. However, this is not the experience of the majority of our customers. We do have replaceable impellers for the pump if you need one. We also suggest checking for debris like sand or rocks in your pit. The impeller really shouldn't shatter and explode if there is only water being moved. -GP Support
Versatile, economic, well built sump pump
This is a great sump pump in a very good price range. The motor is protected with a thermal overload switch, the housing is made of durable, non-corroding plastic and it carries a one-year warranty. I t can pump up to 59 gallons per minute and can lift the water up to twenty feet high, all at 1/3 horsepower. So it is built very efficiently. The float switch is adjustable and comes with it preset for maximum efficiency. It switches on at about 12 inches and off at about 5 inches. It accepts a 1/ 1/4" FMPT pipe for the discharge. The installation is pretty simple. You will need a check valve on the discharge pipe. The basin should be at a minimum of 12 inches in diameter and 18 inches in depth. I have found the Everlast technical support people to be very helpful with questions as well as replacement parts. The warranty on this is one year

            1/3 HP Pedestal Sump Pump
This is a good sump pump for the price point. It will move a decent amount of water (40 gallons per minute) and it’s got a pretty stout motor. The float system is decent, I think the Allen screws are kind of a pain, especially if they pump is down in a sump hole (which many are) because you either have to lift the pump out to get to the screws or get your hands down in the adjust then in the hole. Other than that it seems to be a stout design and is easy to set up!

Product is Great but NOT for Use I Intended
I ordered this sump pump intending to build a floating platform to provide aeration on our fishing lake. It seemed so logical but when unboxing and reading the instructions ... it specifically says NOT for use in a water feature or fountain. Oops! That said, I like the design... great lift ring at the top and easy assembly with a few additional components you must provide.

            A quiet, yet powerful pump
The Everbilt 1/3HP, 3.7 amp pedestal pump is a great choice if you need a pedestal style sump pump. This powerful pump moves up to 59 gallons per minute (GPM) at 0 feet of lift, or 40 gallons per minute at 10 ft. of lift (standard for most basements), and has a maximum lift of 20 ft. The pump uses a standard 1-1/4 inch. NPT discharge thread (hose /piping not supplied), with a float preset to turn on at: 11 inches and off at 4.3 inches, but these settings are easily adjustable by way of a set screw and adjustable stops. This pump is supplied with an 8 ft. long, three prong power cord. The pump will fit into a 12 in. or larger sump pit. The impeller intake area is serviceable if it becomes stuck or clogged by debris or sediment. A one-year limited warranty is provided. Overall, I am most impressed by the good price point, quiet operation and strong flowrate.

            Great Quality
Don't be fooled by the description of the pump being plastic as to indicate that this Sump Pump isn't of high quality...it is! This is a perfect sump pump for a replacement or for a new pump for a household. I especially like the 9 foot power cord that elevates the need to utilize an extension cord to power the unit. The 1 1/2 female connection point allows you to easily install a PVC Drain pipe and direct the discharge pipe accordingly. A ring pull is on the top of the unit that allows you to easily lift it out fo the way to remove debris if need be.

            Simple installation in minutes!
Everbilt 1/3 HP Plastic Pedestal Sump Pump is designed to function as a non-submersible basement sump pump. The pump ships to your door fully assembled and measures 29in high. The specs indicate that the pump is able to flow at a rate of 40 GPM (@ 10 feet of lift); it requires a 12 inch minimum sump pit and can achieve a maximum of 20 feet of lift. This non-submersible style of sump pump has the motor at the top, with a float that activates the switch. This Everbilt Pedestal Sump Pump appears to be matched with a good quality motor. Installation is super simple, it comes with a step-by-step guide and instruction manual. Thread the PVC to the outlet, set the pedestal in the sump pump pit location, plug it in, and you are good to go. The ring at the top is helpful when we have to move the pump around or pull it up and out of the sump pump pit. This pump should provide reliable service for many years to come, but it is comforting to know that this item also has a 1-year warranty.

            Works great!
I got this to replace an old sump pump. It's not as heavy as my old one. Quiet operation, turned on, took the water down and shut right off. Installation instructions were easy to follow. Only took a few minutes to get it installed. So far, so good. Very pleased with it. I tried to take a picture of this installed but it was too dark under the stairs to get a decent picture.
