About This Product

Paracord is ideal for camping, hiking and other outdoor activities. You can braid a survival bracelet from Paracord and unravel it when cordage is needed. It has a great combination of strength and durability for a lightweight rope. Some of the dozens of practical uses for Paracord include: making a tarp ridgeline, securing equipment to a backpack or a vehicle, making a shelter, replacing shoelaces, making a clothesline, hanging food while camping, marking a trail, and making an emergency tourniquet. Made with a dual polypropylene/nylon construction. Always keep at least 50 ft. of Paracord on hand.

Highlights

  • Working load limit of 160 lbs.
  • Paracord is a must-have in your emergency survival kit
  • Fuse ends to prevent unraveling
  • Paracord dries quickly and is resistant to rotting and mildew
  • Includes (1) 1/8 in. x 50 ft. Paracord
  • Cordage institute defines Working Load Limit (WLL) as the working load that must not be exceeded for a particular application as established by a regulatory or standards setting agency; this is different than the breaking strength of a rope, which is the force at which a rope will break; working load limit is always a lower value than the breaking strength of a rope

Q:Can i use this rope for a clothes line ?

Answer This Question

A:  You COULD, however it won't last as long in the weather as actual clothesline. It's perfect for a camping clothesline, but not for something you intend to leave in the weather and sunlight permenantly.

by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes, the product is suitable for that application.

A:  Yes, it would do well as a clothesline.

      by|Dec 4, 2018

A:  I don't think that would work. Cord isn't strong enough for that much weight.

A:  Hello JerryMaxx75, glad to help answer your question. Jerry just head on over to your favorite Home Depot & pick what colors you like that are available at the store. I am sure they have them in stock, however there isn't a way to tell you what colors are left. Glad to have helped.

        by|May 5, 2023

A:  The best thing to do would be to search ‘Everbilt paracord’ on www.homedepot.com to see the in-store and online availability for all our paracord products. For specific colors, order them individually to guarantee getting the colors you want instead of ordering the ‘Assorted Colors’ item you mentioned.

A:  we do not have it in stock. we're not carrying it anymore

Q:Are you able to cut this and make several pieces from it? Or is it meant to be one whole piece? Im not sure if the ends would split if you cut it.

A:  This cord is easily cut, but the ends must be tied, glued or melted or the braided cover will quickly unravel and/or will separate from the core.

            by|Dec 4, 2018

A:  Hello Christian, Yes you can cut this rope. You just have to melt the ends so that they don't unravel. This can be done with a lighter. Slightly melt the end and then push it down onto a scrap piece of wood. DO NOT TOUCH IT.

A:  We used this in Navy aviation. You CAN cut it. Once cut you will need to melt the ends (a lighter does the trick)

A:  The Paracord can be cut. Please be sure to tape the ends before cutting so you can seal them properly.

A:  Para cord is made of nylon, it will burn readily.

A:  Hi Jon, This is nylon so it will melt not burn. Mike

A:  It is nylon, and not suitable for high temperature use, the same as any other similar synthetic cord. The cord will burn, but no more easily than any other nylon cord material.

Great for Use as tie Downs
Not True Paracord, however if you purpose this as it was designed for it works excellently. I bought & do buy a couple every other month & sometimes just toss a couple into the back seat of the Truck or trunk of the car. They are inexpensive & pretty strong tie down rope. I had no problem fusing the ends shut, but I did use a personal hand torch to do it... Many uses only limited to your imagination. Pic is of 2 50 foot ropes to tie the blue tarp down onto the Cattle Panels... Keeps them from blowing & rubbing a hole through the tarp... Another Pic is the Red rope to tie the blue tarp down on some OSB Sheeting... The Rope worked for the Purpose I applied it to.

When I picked up my purchase at Home Depot they gave me just one cord bundle. I got the impression from your website that there would be 6 bundles of differently colored cord.. Home depot said that is not the case, and gave me one black cord bundle only. Your online ad is very misleading.

This is a good quality utility cord, but it is not paracord (550). The core is not stranded, and the cover is quite elastic. It knots and un-knots very well. Beware the weight rating of 160# is less than 1/3 of actual paracord.

For planning purposes, expect the cord to be as many as 46 feet long, not 50. (For example, I got 7 @ 63" + 1 @ 60" + 1@ 50" = 551" <> 50' * 12" = 600"). Note, too, that the cord sheath will contract when the cord is cut. The longer the section you cut the more the sheath could contract. Be prepared to quickly melt the cut ends so that both the sheath and the inner nylon fibers are fused together. This will prevent the sheath from exposing the fibers.

Rope used by very active boys for "fort". Nice and colorful. One rope has showed a tear in it already though. But for the most part they have held up. I would not recommend for serious tie down but certainly good enough for light work.

Our pet Doxiepoo (and the sun and weather) were wearing out other "similar" products about every 3-4 months. She's about 15 lbs; one end is her, the other a suitable weight. (2 rubber wheel chocks form Harbor Freight have also out lasted other solutions - our turf is too rocky for ground screws) When I saw this product I purchased two, assuming that I wold be back for more soon enough, but two would make that less soon. This cord had AMAZING long life and durability. I don't recall exactly when we started using the first one, I'm thinking somewhere between 12 and 24 months ago... I'm here writing this because I wanted to look and see about getting more because it outlasted a lot of other products. Bottom line if you intend to expose this cord to the elements IT LASTS A VERY LONG TIME I absolutly do reccommend this product.
