Q:My toilet seat is not straight. There is a missing 'plug' to hold it straight. I have a photo which shows it miss-aligned, then straight. The last photo shows the top of plug on the right side of the seat. I need a similar plug for the left side.

Q:Do I have to remove the bolts to install these?

Answer This Question

A:  Hi Angie, thank you for your inquiry. We have provided a link to the instructions below. The washer and nut should be removed from the toilet bolt first. Then, place the new snap on washer in place. Next, replace round or oval washer and nut and finally, snap on bolt cap. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Answer This Question

A:  Did not work for me - bolt does not fit thru slot in washer required to hold it in place.

by|Jun 3, 2021

A:  No, these are for 1 inch diameter bolts.

    by|Jul 12, 2020

A:  Yes. The base washer is one inch, that the cap snaps onto. It uses your existing toilet bolts.

A:  I would recommend going to the home depot store near you or got the home depot web site and see if available in your store or can order online.

        by|May 5, 2023

A:  You could probably paint them, but I don't see any in pink.

        by|May 5, 2023

A:  I think they only come in white & beige. I suppose you could paint them.

I got these bolt caps because I had a toilet with long bolts that I wanted to polish off. These are a 10 star out of 5 because it's a great idea well implemented. I gave it a 5 as easy to install. The bolt caps are indeed that. Getting the bolt off was, for me, a difficult proposition so I'd advise allowing time to get the bolts off. But that had nothing to do with the actual installation of the bolt cap.. The issue was that over time the wax and other crud had covered the nuts on the bolts. Once off, the installation was easy. Slip the little plastic piece onto the bolt with the side that says "This side up" facing up, then screw the nut on the bolt. Then press the bolt cap on the plastic piece until it clicks into place. That's it. I tried taking one of them off and putting it back on several times. I had to slip a blade under the cap to pry it off. It came off easily enough and snapped back on every time. This is a much better idea than just putting the bolt cap over the screw. Pictures of the installation are included.

Simple Install, white bolt caps These toilet bolt caps are 1 inch tall, so must be used for very short bolts. (There are taller bolt caps. make sure these 1" caps will fit) For my project, I was able to use the 1" covers. The plastic disk easily installs under the toilet bolt nut and washer, tightened securely without bending or warping. The cap then snapped securely on to the base. This item is only the cap assembly, and does not include the bolts/nuts/washers needed to mount the toilet to the drain flange/floor. The caps look nice, and work as expected. I'd buy these again if needed !

Easy installation if you follow the directions. The most difficult step in the installation is removing the nut from the floor bolt. I had one that spun a bit. The bases come with a label saying "This Side Up". Follow this direction and all will go well. Remove the bolt and place the base underneath. Place the washer and nut on top, then click the top onto the base. Definitely need to place the metal washer on top of the plastic base. With the right side up, the top will attach without any problem.

I used the 1 in. Bolt Cap (2 Pack) recently to cover up the tank bolts from a toilet install from ages ago. After removing the nut I slipped the bottom cap part and then re-tightened the nut to the bolt. Then the caps easily popped on and looked to be held in place fime. Took a bit of effort to snap them down which I consider a good thing. One thing odd, the snap part under the caps, one was solid one clear. Maybe a mixup at packing but both worked fine.

I returned them because they were for the bottom of the toilet and I needed for the toilet seat.
